hamster in the wall

I used a screwdriver to dig a hole in the wall so she can come out and set a trap.

I cant smell gas so hopefully it will be ok, I will ring the gas man tomorrow to fix it.

If I am understanding correctly, you have removed the gas burner but not the valve, and the valve is still off? If so, that should be fine. But if you do begin to smell gas, call the gas company *immediately*.

I took the cover off but cant get it back on properly and the on switch is hanging off, but I think it has a valve inside which switches off the gas if its not lit, so hopefully it will be ok. however no doubt I shall worry myself sick and keep checking it.

That sounds right to me, and I suspect the gas company will gladly come out and put everything back into place correctly.

That's great! I dropped my sister's hamster once and it immediately disappeared into the wall through a hole. My sister used to leave food for it outside the hole but never caught it. Good job, lotusblossom!

That's great you got the hamster back I bet it's the worst when tiny animals run off.

Reminds of the first week we got our cat, she crawled under the floorboards and was running around in them all day! Eventually she found a dead end and ran all the way back to the surface :lol:

I think you'll be ok if you follow the previous advice people have given.

Also, they tend to go back to the same place, so leave stuff out near where you found her last time.

no the hole is where the gas pipe comes in and is under the fire so I cant get at it.
