Usually not much. I always feel like I'm expected to have a really special day and I just know that's not going to happen so I don't pay much attention.

And my landlord says I'm livin' in my own little world.

Varied.

For my 18th I think I did almost nothing. The same could be said for other years. Then I get depressed that I don't have many friends, and realise another year has passed with me changing none.

For my 21st my parents suggested going on a 3day trip with them to 3 small towns around England. I forget which ones. What do they do on these trips? The same thing they would do in any town... shop, eat a bit, go to a travel-lodge. My god, the insanity. No, no more.

I refused on the basis I was fed up on doing that sort of crap. And your 21st should be special (and I mean by that, that there is pressure from society to do something special for your 21st). But to be fair, I would like to do something I like on my birthday - surely that is not unreasonable?

A good friend from old college - we went out on the night and drank lots, played pool, had 7 games of bowling, tried to get into a strip club (but was refused entry on account of being too drunk), and went to a Casino, had burgers from a burger-van in the middle of nowehere and got a taxi home at 4am. That was actually the best night of my life. So I feel pretty damn priviliged to be able to say I did that. And I couldn't have done it without a fair amount of alcohol. But I wouldn't do this normally, I feel no urge...

Casino's are really friendly places btw.. I like the atmosphere, no pressure.

My mom always made a special dinner, whateve the birthday person wanted. I always picked lasagna. Now I don't do much to celebrate; my kids give me little things that they made or bought. Sometimes my husband takes me out to dinner. If I get any money (sometimes my MIL sends some), I go buy something special just for me.

I'll more than likely be having an Austin Powers Moviethon, to celebrate my Twin as well as myself.

I dislike all forms of "scheduled fun"....B-day,Holidays,vacations...there is just so much expectation to be "happy".....Happy isnt "easy" for me and I dont do it well, hate feeling like a failure for this.I know my mom always felt like I was "ungreatful" because I could not show enough emotion, made the whole experience very stressful and negative.

Now,I take the day off from work,do all my ussual favorite things...reading,computer,art, and go out to Red Lobster for dinner with my SO.My parents usually send me $50.(No more pink sweaters...yeah)and I spend it buying fun stuff at the thrift store. My parents and SO have learned to give me cash or gift certs. because I am very hard to "buy for".

I usually stay in, and make use of my presents or go out with my family. I never have any parties, because the last time I tried having a party all the people I invited thought "for a laugh" to not bother turning up even though they said they would. :(

My 15th birthday is coming up anyways.

15 Days left until I'm 15...

I normally feel sorry for myself because no-one sends me a card or a text message or an e-mail or anything, and then I feel really worthless and wonder why I don't have many friends.

And then, eventually, normally by about tea-time, I realise that it's because I haven't actually bothered to tell anyone that it's my birthday, because I hate making phone calls and I'm particularly bad at saying anything that seems even remotely self-centered, and I haven't organised a party or anything because I don't have time to organise one, plus my flat is a tip because I don't have any motivation to tidy it up.

I also remember all of the times throughout the year when I've forgotten the birthdays of others, through being too tired, too busy, too distracted or too obsessive over something. And I equate how that must have felt for my friends at the time with how I feel right now, and I feel guilty.

So basically, each year I conclude that I'm a very sad man with no-one to blame but myself.

More or less the same here, except that I talk to barely anyone to begin with. And I don't really "realize everything is my own fault", because at every moment I'm aware of who I am, and what it is I do.

In my bleaker moments, I imagine that nothing I do will mean a damn thing. Generally though I am of the opinion that I can achieve my goals if A) I know what it is I want and B) I make sufficent effort, which is for the most part outright epic.

I take myself out, sometimes for a weekend to a bed and breakfast just to get away from the everyday noise. Sometimes I take myself to dinner and buy an unexpecting table a bottle of wine or drinks. Sometimes I take myself and my kids to dinner.

I'm about to turn 30, so I'll be pretending it's not happening. Much like I did last time round, come to think of it. Would have a party, but probably only 3 or 4 people would show up, and I don't like parties anyway... bad enough when you can sneak out early, and can't really get away with that at your own party :?

Picture this: Werbert, a six-pack of Mountain Dew, and a Zebra. Add music and let simmer for four hours.

Usually I invite some friends over and have fun. My friends are all eccentric so I can relax and enjoy myself around them. For my last birthday (my 22nd) I took a couple of friends out to dinner.

I ask my parents, my sister and her two children (and her husband if he wants to) and my ex-husband (and his brother if he's around) to come and eat at my place. We eat pie, I make barbeque and salad with bread and that's it. I'm busy all day with food and drinks. Last year I had ten people which was too much I think. Anyway. Everybody says it's fun. I'm okay because I'm running around all the time and I get presents.

Last year I did something else (which I'm going to do again next year). We ate pie at my home, then went to the beach and I paid for drinks and we ate fried potato chips and then all went home.

I never ask anybody else than my family and I don't tell anyone at work that I'm having my birthday. I hate people coming to me to congratulate me.
