That clause was in writing when I took this job.
My boss at my other job told me it was illegal, as well.

This was actually the shittier of my two jobs. The better job is going full-time as of September, so I won't even need a second job, then.
I think my ex boss is just a ****. He was bullying another person before he started bullying me. That guy did have some performance issues, but I think my ex boss was the main cause due to him being demotivated. That guy left and found another job...I can see how the pattern works in that company.
I had a boss like that when I worked in healthcare. She would have been overjoyed to make me lose my license! A lot she cared that I was a single mother and was really struggling. If it weren't for the clinical director over her, she could have ruined me. I was at first upset when the company wasn't doing so well and started laying people off. She was the only one left after the rest of the staff was dismissed, but we later heard that she was given the work of at least ten people to be divided between her and one other person! Later she got fired anyway, the b***h.
