I never give warnings, it just gives people an opportunity to stop me.

Wasn't that the William Frenud guy mentioned on the previous page?

Suicide is simply a choice. Everyone deserves at least one choice in this world where we are constatnly reminded that we are absolutely nothing if we don't meet the expectattions set out for us. There are two things in the wrold; absolute perfection and abject failure. If we cannpt be one thne we shulod be thojter.

I want to make it clear this is not a personal attack but merely a disagreement because it could be taken the wrong way.

I believe one must be cautious not to characterize suicide in such lowly terms. The effects of suicide have a habit of rippling outward and causing more damage to those around the person who commits them a "regular" death. It leaves people to ask questions, and ponder. Not everyone is effected similarly. When my mother committed suicide I recovered far easier then my father, despite the fact that many people thought thought I was effected to a huge degree. However people in my family were effected and I noticed it.

This is not the same as to say I blamed my mother because I didn't. She was clearly not of entirely stable mind, and I have heard of other complications since.

Still suicide is a painful and traumatic event. It is not just a choice.

I read the forum and I thought "How could I of killed myself recently? I would be dead wouldn't I?"

But then I thought, "I would come back as a ghost wouldn't I?" :)

I'll probably get blasted for saying this, but it's what a call victim's rage psychology. It doesn't excuse what he's done, but I'm sure many of aspie men on here have **thought** about something similar at one time or another. Doesn't mean we neccessarily go out and do it, but then though when we live in such a tormenting, racist society that is actively discriminating against us, exploiting us, verbally (and sometimes physically) abusing us, and stripping away our humanity... THAT breeds mental illness.

I think it is important to not think of ourselves as victims. No one is conspiring to exploit me or discriminate against me.

Quote:
He shot and killed two people before going home and killing himself with a shot to the torso.

That is not mental illness. That is murder. Pure and simple.

The person also was aware of what he was doing:

Quote:
Before his shooting spree he had asked several people for advice on how to avoid being institutionalized as well as offering to pay people for the real names and addresses of channel operators in IRC channels that banned him.

I have no sympathy for this person. I wish he had survived so the families of his victims would have gotten the justice of seeing him convicted of his crime.

William Freund lived very close to where I live. I remember when I heard it I thought great, now people are going to think people with Asperger's are ruthless murderers.

That would be unfortunate, but some people most false assumptions. The vast majority of people with Asperger's are obviously not murderers, and while many murderers have some mental issues the issue is not usually being on the autism spectrum.

Who is "NT street trash"? What does precisely does this comment intend to mean?

EDIT: Don't respond if you don't want to. You seem to be having a rough time lately. I don't want to start a difficult back and forth.

I'm not gonna waste my time getting into a huge philisophical discussion, and I am certainly not justifying fruend's actions, but to say we're not discriminated against obviously shows how much you know about living with AS.
