When I am depressed about my situation I try to think about people who have it much worse then me (ie: the impoverished, oppressed masses in most of the world). If they can try to get by, they I can.

Are you sure you should be making big decisions about your life whilst you are irrational?
It might be best to seek some help to rationalise your thoughts first and then you may be able to make decisions like this more objectively.

I'm not irrational,i'm stating reality.

Sorry, your not. Several of your comments are both medically and philosophically irrational.

For Example:
Unknown wrote:
I'll never be loved by anyone, just hated by everyone for no apparent reason

This statement is irrational because it makes assumptions about future subjective opinions. It can not possibly be accurate.
Further more it is impossible that you can be "hated by everyone" as several people here appear not to hate you, my self included.

You appear to have a bias view of how much and how many people hate you. I would advise you attempt to have this fixed before you make any life changing or life ending decisions.

What utter horsecrap,EVERYONE HATES ME,ENOUGH SAID!! !! !

Let me ask you something unknown. Please don't take this as BS a put down or anything it is a simple question to which I need (not want) an honest answer.
My son is six and was diagnosed with Asperger's 2 years ago. He's still too young for the "talk" but when the day comes, what do you suggest I tell him about the outlook for his future and what his goals should be?

Unknown.

I know how you feel.

I hit rock bottom last December/January, and I rose up.

I felt the same way, just wanted to die. I actually emailed someone that i wanted to kill myself, and felt depressed, and my parents intervened because said person emailed my sister.

But trust me unknown. there is no way that you can give up? besides without you there'd be no PSOT!

Yawn.
you know, I always like to open up a convo where I remain unconsolable about my distressed position. People will hop on one foot if they think it is going to some how CONVINCE me of the error of my ways and it is always amusing to watch them. When they get desparate ( because of my profanity or hostility) is when it is really funny to watch them!

So, I get bored and depressed a LOT, mostly because it has become a habit for me. Anyway, I have painted myself into a corner and because I am independent as a 'hog on ice' I will swear to the death that no one has broken me or my will.

However, then I have to get another chat name because people have caught on and started to REALIZE why 'everyone hates me' because the 'for no reason' has become obvious. They hate me because I use them worse than they use me only NOW I use them first.

good luck to us all!
Merle

I felt the same way about 7 years ago. I would go to bed thinking that maybe I would get lucky and not wake up. After about a week on antidepressants it all changed. I was actually excited about the future.

Unknown, your perceptions have been warped by your bad experiences.

Perceptions can change

You dont have to be hurt by others all the time

If you were worthless you wouldnt have been born and would have been discarded like trash.

unknown,

You obviously are feeling miserable. Quite a few people with Aspergers feel like ending it all, and for some reason it usually happens around the age of 14 or 15. Some of this is definitely because of the discrepancy between you and the people you hate (or that hate you, as you've pointed out). But honestly, some of it is just hormones, plain and simple.

You really should try and get some medical help.

I wouldn't be pushing the meds idea, except I've been through this very thing with my son (now 20) who was 14 when he began to talk about committing suicide. We did not get him help, and he did manage to get out of his depression. We were just dumb parents who didn't quite know what to do.

We now have a 10 year old, who is basically a really cheerful kid. But he was growing at a fast rate AND having lots of new demands put on him at school. The Pediatrician suggested upping his Ritalin, earlier in the year, but I didn't think he needed it. Then, before Christmas, he was really saying lots of things like "I'm no good" or "I wish I had never been born." I had NEVER heard him talk like this. We called the dr., he upped his Ritalin dosage, and he's really feeling very good about himself again. I was absolutely AMAZED that something like Ritalin could have that kind of effect on his outlook.

I'm not saying that meds are the answer to everything, but you might be surprised to find out how much better you "could" feel about things if you got some help. I know that I'm concerned about your welfare -- and so are other people on this forum.

Kris

No, the way you are talking is classical depression. One symptom of depression is that you feel that thins will never change.

BTW I was just as angry as you were and everyone telling me to try and feel better REALLY got on my nerves.

You are not being mental. You are obviously very hurt and suffering depressive symptoms either as depression itself or as a reaction to bad things that happen to you.

I'm sorry, Unknown, I'm probably not helping. My note was too much a focus on myself. I wish I had some good advise on how to help you.

I was gonna say "mentally hurt" and instead of mental.

Its the latter btw.

why let the gregarious world cause you to be a sissy.

I know. It sucks having to share it with all these people. But there is a place in it for you.
