I've been diagnosed with lots of different things myself & some of those diagnosed were seemingly contradictory of something else that was also made by the same person. Lots don't know what Aspergers is or much about it. When I was a toddler my mom told our family GP she thought I was autistic & he laughed & said "Nick's just being Nick". Even people who work with developmental disabled don't seem to really know much about Aspergers because they were surprised I had a high-school diploma, & said I seemed too intelligent & communicated too well verbally to have anything on the autism spectrum. I also met a couple paretns of some autistic kids because they worked in organizations I tried receiving help from & the way they talked about their kids sounded like higher functioning mental retardation rather than classic autism. My mom told me she thought I had Aspergers after I graduated high-school but I didn't give it much thought at the time thou I did research it some. II had a mental breakdown when I was 20 over my 1st relationship ending which I screwed up because of anxiety issues.. After that I went through a phase were I did alot of research on things trying to understand the different disorders I was diagnosed with & I started using forums for various mental issues I was given the labels of at various times. I didn't have much in common with some of them besides things I had in common with others too. Eventually after having problems on other forums & leving I decided to try WP. I fit in better here than I did on the other forums thou I was at a different place in my life then & the knowledge I gained about Aspergers & about myself helped me realize I am an Aspie. One thing I did was I analyzed the various diagnoses/labels & tried to figure out why I had the symtoms on the DSM list for em that I had/ tried to understand the relationship between my issues & what caused what.
