I think autistic people, including me, aren't immune to rudeness or selfishness or whatever other nasty words we can think of, but I do my best. If you see someone looks lonely, write to them. If you see someone is getting ganged up on here, call it out. It's the only way you can make a difference for the better. It all starts with you and eventually others will follow in your footsteps.

Khaoz, you are making yourself emotionally vulnerable when you make a post about yourself and you find the experience uncomfortable. That might be why you're lashing out at others with this thread. Despite your perception that WP is a support group, not everyone feels bound by that perspective, except in the Haven where harshness is not allowed. The tagline below the logo says "online resource and community", not "support group". Aspies are notoriously bad at providing comfort to others. I can't tell from your username or avatar what gender you are, so I wouldn't blame the lack of comments on being male.

I respond to threads that say "please help" or ask a question, which lets me know the person is not just venting but is seriously looking to engage. Perhaps if you put a question in your subject line, or a sentence in your post that specifically asks for people to comment, you might get a bit more in terms of response if that's what is important to you. Also, remember the saying "To have a friend, be one"--respond to the despairing posts of others like yourself if you hope people will sympathize with yours.

I do agree that, generally, responding to others on forums is a good way to get noticed.

I'm in the teensy-weensy minority of people who find people offline empathetic and interested and people online the opposite, so I can somewhat see where he/she is coming from with feeling unnoticed (though, again, I see almost zero threads with no replies). I've been on forums where I can have ten, thirty, or four hundred posts of talking to others... and receive four or none in response - and I'm female. To top it off, none of them might be more than a sentence and looking in-depth at what's happening.

I've found the exceptions, but it's still a curiosity how some people manage to do nothing and receive an endless flood of support and attention when in theory I should be one of those people. I'd blame my personality, but my friends like it just fine. Maybe it's just because I don't have "girl," "flower," "cutie," or a girl's name in my usernames.

It takes practically zero effort to be involved with my classmates, at least on a casual level. I'm confident that if I wanted to talk to someone outside of class after listening to them talk about their servers for 2-3 hours I could get an ear.
