oh, I don't doubt it was perfect, but when you're out of you mind-nothing's right. I've been to plenty of picture perfect weddings where the gossip was thick and "somebody ruined it" for Bridezilla, the poor princess.

Yeah, there's huge pressure to have the perfect wedding. I've been to a few and can see people assessing whether this one is better than the last etc... It's terrible, really. Brainless Brides feel the pressure and if something doesn't go right (as they see it) their little worlds fall apart.
I was reading recently that De Beers (the diamond hoarders) conceiving the idea of buying diamonds for engagement rings some decades ago, and have been pumping adverts saying that since then. It worked and now the idea of having a shining jewel on your ring finger is completely embedded in society. De Beers = very rich now.
And oh yeah every man is supposed to be a Mr Darcy coming along like a prince on a white horse (Mercedes) to rescue every poor damsel. F***ck that s**t.
Some friends of mine had a quiet wedding a few months ago - no-one was invited. Wicked ! That's the way to do it.
Yeah, I had one of those weddings at the courthouse where the only witnesses were our parents. I deliberately didn't tell my mom until the night before, since I didn't want her to make a big deal out of it and force me to have a large wedding I don't want.
I don't have a diamond either. Something about "blood diamonds" doesn't quite go hand-in-hand with the idea of love and romance.

Anyone who works in direct service for other people are increasingly falling victim to robotic expectations. People need to f**k off and realize we're all human.
