Well, people can't stop it, corporations can't stop it, not even God himself can stop it. What we are witnessing before our very eyes is the rapid advancement of technology and artificial intelligence. Damn you, Ray Kurzweil, for being so seemingly infallible. I am so terrified at the thought that I only have a relatively short time to enjoy my biological self and this organic world, before we all choose to have to upgrade our being and personality. I'm losing my motivation to achieve. What makes me more terrified is the fact that the singularity is unavoidable. I wish to die and be taken to a better place where I can finally be at peace, before it's too late and the technological singularity has already happened. Nobody is even allowed to say it's impossible anymore.
Is this where we're supposed to turn into computer programs or something? I think that'll be a way off yet.
Besides, I don't think I'd get on very well with someone who wanted to turn themselves into a computer program. In which case, come the time, they'll have pissed off into the electro-ether, and those who don't want to do so will have more elbow room.
