When people start talking to me less it just seems like it happens out of nowhere and it's confusing, especially when they had similar things happen to them. It makes me feel like there's not much hope because it seems like it keeps happening. Sorry, I just felt like I had to get that off my chest.

This is a dumb idea, but you could try folding in your mirrors yourself a few times, and if they are still being messed with then you know for sure that someone really is playing games?

Do you mean similar as in random things that are similar, or having people losing interest in common?

People telling you "don't feel so bad about things, it's really not so bad" doesn't really work that well, even if they're right. The only thing that I know to feel better in a situation like that is to change your outlook on life a little bit somehow, just enough to where thinking about missing out on the connections 'normal' people seem to get doesn't bother you consciously all the time.

This is going to sound really stupid, but I basically use caffeine as an antidepressant these days, which makes you feel a little happier, and makes it a little easier to not go down darker thought trains.

I might try that. Maybe it will make them not want to do it anymore. :)

I meant losing interest.

You know, it seems like people from different areas can have very different mentalities and levels of acceptance, maybe the people from where you are just are not very open to people like aspies?

I hope that's true. There are a lot of people that are nice to me and treat me with respect though. There's just a few that target me at work, but they are usually the loudest and sometimes they seem to influence other people to.

Well I've lived in Washington and Arizona, and gone through California and Oregon and notice that people people are pretty different in those places. People here in Washington seem very different depending on what city you're in even! People in Arizona seem more uptight, people in Oregon and Cali seem more laid back and friendly in general. I'm not an expert at all, but that's something I notice.

Everything I've heard about office social dynamic sound like an awful place to be. Some companies actually totally get rid of most of that too by decentralizing and restructuring their offices because it's very unproductive the way typical workplaces operate because of the social crap.

It seems like the city that I live in now doesn't seem to have as many malicious people as the one where I'm from, but maybe it has more to do with being more guarded. I obviously still to run into a lot of them, but they don't seem to get inside my head and mess with it like the others did.

Sometimes I feel happier when I drink some caffeine, but I don't think I usually drink enough for it to have much effect.

Strenuous activity seems to make me feel better. I don't really get much exercise unless I'm volunteering or working because my job requires some moving around, but I usually don't get that strenuous kind of exercise from my job.

Yeah exercise is supposed to be good too, it's really hard to make times for it sometimes though. I'm guilty of not exercising as much as I should, other than walking/hiking when the weather is good. I think the part about exercise that makes you feel good right afterwards is called a "runner's high".

I heard of that too because of endorphin's.

Yep, that's what I heard too. Though I think there are a bunch of other reasons that it would make someone feel better overall longer term, if they didn't go about it the wrong way. I don't really remember specifics.

I should exercise more. It's a shame I can't do strenuous activity all the time so that I'm not as stressed out.

I sometimes have trouble with depression and I try to cope with it by just doing whatever makes me feel better. A lot of times it helps just to go for a walk. Probably the best thing to do is something that will keep your mind occupied and distract you from the stress.

It's sometimes hard for me to distract myself though. I feel like if I just did strenuous activities all the time I would pass out or be too exhausted to think and feel very upset about these things.

Sometimes listening to music, watching tv, playing video games can help distract you from feeling depressed. Doing something that's strenuous probably works well too. Do you tend to get stuck in your head and loop over the things that bother you? That's something I tend to do, and I usually have to try to break myself out of that by doing something and trying not to think about whatever too much. The thing I notice about feeling depressed is that it can have a sort of momentum, if you are trying to make it go away it take a bit for it to start moving away, but it goes away more or less.

Yeah, I do that too. It's just really confusing when someone acts like I'm a good friend for a while and then suddenly it seems like for no reason they start to become cold and distant. It doesn't bother me much if it's someone I had just met, but we would talk about personal things and they would seem really comfortable around so it's confusing. Some of them even tell me about how other people would also push them away. There must be something I do that just drives people away. They still seem attentive toward other people and it's like they just stop caring about me and just seems to keep happening and sometimes I don't know how much more I can take.

I'm really sorry that's happening to you, that's an awful feeling to have. I don't know about you but I have no friends, just a few scattered acquaintances. I have a really hard time making new friends, and keeping things going with people it seems, so I understand the feeling. I've had people who I thought were friends cut me out too. Sometimes I wonder if I interact with people weirdly and people get annoyed by it. I haven't had irl friends since I was like 10 either, because I get anxiety about getting into social situations.

I do know that getting down on yourself and your life because of that is a great way to make yourself depressed. And that it's a good idea not to let yourself think about it too much, which can be easier said than done. In the end it doesn't really matter that much if you have a lot of social connections, just that you are true to yourself and keep doing things you enjoy, and keep trying to make your life better, even if just a little bit at a time.

Sometimes at work when I feel like my coworkers might be talking about something I did so I go up to them and ask them if there's a problem or if I did something wrong. Then sometimes I might explain something in a direct kind of way. I do it to try to be assertive and to try to figure out I did wrong if I did do something wrong. Then afterwards it seems like they are really uncomfortable or annoyed. Maybe this is why a few of my coworkers seem hostile towards me. Like maybe they think I'm getting defensive or trying to be competitive.

A lot of times people think I'm being rude when I really didn't think I was doing anything wrong. Maybe it's something like that? I think a lot of people don't like directness, especially in a place where people are fake-nice all the time.
