I know how you feel, OP. I feel much the same. Arrived, posted on the first sub forum I saw cos it was at the top, and put my foot in it.
I'm still on the fence what I'm gonna do but I feel you should certainly stay.

It's a valuable resource, why not stay n use it? (:

You just take your foot out of your mouth, look for visible injuries, treat them, and keep on trucking.

I'm a little argumentative on here sometimes, but I don't mean anything by it.

I don't blame you OP. I'm getting pissed off here too. I hate the way people post stuff about us lacking empathy and not considering NT's feelings and how it makes it sound like we're the ones that need to be educated and that it's an Aspie trait to be tactless, but then in another thread they're whining about NTs being completely tactless towards them, like not considering feelings of Aspies, but still go on thinking tactlessness is only an Aspie trait. I find I'm always trying to point that out, but nobody takes a blind bit of notice of me.

An Aspie could get bullied severely by NTs, but still go through life thinking NTs are experts at respecting other people's feelings. Yes lots of NTs ARE very thoughtful and empathetic, but there are lots of NTs who would think nothing of hurting somebody emotionally. And not all bullying is intentional either. Some NT bullies are so wrapped up in their popularity that they can't imagine being in an Aspie's shoes and often bully without even realizing how upset they are making that Aspie feel.

You can be an expert at respecting other people's feelings and still choose to do it only to those you actually need to respect, abusing those you can afford to.

Sometimes I said things or expressed frustrations that has effectively burned bridges and friendships. Got upset at something that Sly said, now I sort of regret it, after thinking about after my brother's car accident. Sometimes, people do not intend to offend you.

I don't think I've seen you before, Deltaville... but nonetheless sorry to hear about the accident and I wish everyone involved the best.

As for WP, you do what you feel is best. I've had my own troubles here too and have come to the conclusion the site isn't a good fit for some aspies. It sounds like this was just one person being an a**hole, though. If that's the case, I urge you to consider the larger picture; it might not be necessary to leave the site over one person's misbehavior. If this is a broader problem you found in RPP though? I really wouldn't blame you if you did. Give it some thought and choose what makes you feel better.

No one's forcing you to stay here. I can definitely see why a person would want to leave, with the utter shitstorms that are the "Love and Dating" and PPR forums. I haven't really had too many problems, but then again I'm kind of a veteran of things like internet forums and comment sections. You're going to find trolls and a**holes everywhere you go, and that's just the nature of the beast.

That all said, I wouldn't recommend giving up on WP entirely, as it's a pretty decent community compared to many of the others I've been on. I mean, I'm actually kind of astounded that a forum of this size can be as civil as it is. Is it perfect? No, but most other large forums are worse.

I dunno. Even though I personally enjoy WP, I can't say I could ever recommend it to someone who wants to completely avoid drama. It's a bit more civil here than most other forums, but it certainly has its problems like any other site.
