I wish I lived in your area. I would help you if you did. I'm sorry things are going so bad for you. I didn't read all of Misery's post, but they are right about asking for help on a forum. The chances of finding someone in your area on a forum that is willing to come help is quite slim.

I hope you are able to get help.

...I was referring to Omniel's comment s about " Oh no ! !! !! He might ask for money ! !! !! " .
Do you know what I have to go through , with my crippled-ness now ?
It set in recently ~ Even during my earlier times here in San Francisco since I came nack , I was capable more of getting around than I am now , now , the number of places I can go to is REALLY restricted :( (Even admiitting that I may be slightly better now than my worst , a few weeks ago...) - It is still endless stops for rest to just walk uphill from the shelter to the library .
Actually , if I get down on the ground , I have to go to great effort to get back up again on my feet , wrenching/pulling myself  .
So Ihave not " driven through snow " enough ?
I only want to be able to download , put up pictures , like " everyone " - I cannot " download a tutorial " when I have just an hour time period on athe computer AND DON'T KNOW HOW TO USE IT !
As I've said , the librarians don't maybe like me too much , and are worked hard ~ They'll hardly " show me some tricks " , especially on the tech I don't have , I have nothing now (my last cheap tablet got stolen) and I'm not going to scrape for the money to get some til' I know there's some purpose for it . I have said that I will go to a class , if someone goes along with me , to help me .
I am curfewed , and otherwise time-hampered , in my shelter situation .
Oh , and possibly dying .
No , I can't be allowed to find out how to improve my tech skills

Is there a way you could get some kind of walker or scooter or something? I would assume Medicaid would pay for this.

...Immediate answer: It's possible , and it has been brought up to me , no no direct prposal/offer made . I'm really wild about the prospect , as you might imagine .
I suppose it could be nessecary , hopefully temporarily , or even permanently :(??
I am not wild about the prospect of " hang around this crappy shelter and MAYBE you'll get housing " .
I at least tell myself , " Maybe the system here doesn't like me too much " .
The trap door thought of going back to New york exists ~ For , if nothing else , to see my brother and parents' graves before I die , if that's how it is to be  .
You said I'd " see Big Sky Country " (with one choice I'd maybe rather see White Sands) ~ Eh , I'm afraid that comes across as " comforting lie " .
On what money ? And contacting people with what tech skills ? If you're not near a local library...
And , of course , what health??

If you have an hour, you have time to read a tutorial.

Here's the thing about someone TEACHING you to do it personally: It's going to be dramatically SLOWER, not faster, than a tutorial. Tutorials are made to be concise and as simple as possible, and easy to go back through if you need to check something from earlier in it.

Having someone TEACH you is usually filled with slow talking, alot of verbal stumbling, alot of "ah" and "uh...", and wont help a damn bit. Unless you want to be helped EXTREMELY slowly.

And dont say "I dont know how to use it" when you're clearly navigating this forum. Forums are more complicated than the mere downloading of pictures.

Just as an example of what I"m talking about through this, I'll give you a direct explanation myself. I will go into detail, yet this will still be short. You mention saving and showing pictures, yes? That's something you want to do? I will explain how to do that. Specifically, this is an explanation on how to download pictures, or display them on THIS forum:

To SAVE a photo/picture onto a computer: Right click any picture. Hit "save as". Choose a folder by double-clicking on it if you want to, or just let it save in the default spot, whatever. Hit "save" on the bottom right of that window. .....that's it.

To DISPLAY a photo/picture from your computer onto this forum: Go to http://www.imgur.com and up at the top, click "upload images"... you cant miss it. A window will appear, click "browse your computer". Go to the folder that you saved the image in, and double click the image file. Then click "start upload". Wait until it finishes. You are then taken to a new screen, where your image will be displayed. Right-click on the image, and then click "copy link address". Now come back to the forum, and start making a post. On the posting screen, there are some icons directly under "Message Body". These icons allow you to do special things within your post. One of them looks like a little mountain/hill with the sun rising above it. Click that. This brings up more options. In the spot that says "enter a link for image", right click it, and select "paste". Then simply hit "insert into message". Your image is now inserted into your message in a form that the forum can understand. It will not display instantly, but will appear when you have finished the rest of your message and clicked "submit".

But there's one other way to DISPLAY an image. You dont HAVE to download it to your computer or go to Imgur, if it's an image you found on the Internet. Remember that part where you right-click and then select "copy image address"? You can do that on any image you see on any site. Then you just "paste" that into the "insert into message" box, like I explained above. And there you go; you can show an image here on the forums without even having to download it.

And that's it, that's all there is to it.

You see how short that is?

I'll explain something else here, which is good advice when it comes to computer stuff: Things like this do NOT take a freaking hour to learn. If a tutorial or explanation takes more than a few minutes... it's not the tutorial or explanation you're looking for. Long tutorials/explanations are almost always for very advanced, technical things, meant for advanced users. That's not what you need. Explanations on how to do the sorts of things you're after are always nice and short, and can be gone through very fast. The people that make tutorials know that their users dont have all day, and know that they want nice, simple answers. They're not dumb, they're aware of this. They want to make your learning experience quick and easy.

And beyond that? Just experiment a bit when you feel like it. Many Windows functions are done by right-clicking on stuff to bring up options. Try right-clicking on basically anything, and see what it does. You can learn much by simply experimenting.

But my overall point is... you could have ALREADY LEARNED THIS, on your own, in the time it took you to keep asking on here for in-person help that simply isnt coming (this being a forum). You're on the INTERNET. It's a wealth of information, and sites like Google make it super easy to find what you need.

Like I've said: some things are best done by helping YOURSELF, rather than waiting endlessly for help that may not arrive. That doesnt help you, does it? But when you realize what YOU can do, on your own... that does help.

You may not think you can do it, but try it anyway. Dont give up. You might surprise yourself. And you can gain some confidence. I've learned this myself, as I used to think the same way. Used to think I couldnt manage anything. But now... I think differently. And you can, too.

...I meant to make this a new post but I can't access new posts now :( ) ~ The other night I was up for hours and hours , most of the night , in my with-roommates room (including one who is particularly hateful towards me :( ) .
Lights out is 9:30 PM , and they're pretty strict about it .
That particular night I was sleepy , and may've in fact lay down before lights-out .
However , as I very often do , I woke up early .
It is a LIFE-LONG problem for me to get to sleep/get back to sleep after waking up !
I was up at 1 AM .
Early getup wand firsts breakfast was at 6 .
I was not back to sleep the whole night !
There is no nighttime quite room where you could go read , , some people have some tech but , breifly , I don't ~
I was up for HOURS AND HOURS , ruminating about the likes of this ~ I couldn't read , watch TV , anything ~
This happens to me again and again ! :(
Almost all of you , I'm sure , don't have to do this , you could occupy yourself , at least quietly ~ I COULD NOT read , or anything else ~ FOR HOURS (after breakfast I eventually fell asleep some) .
Meanwhile , MY LIFE TICKS AWAY  , likely , as I've pointed out .
And , I am simply NOT a " kewell-hip cyberkid " who can figure out everything without help !
I need help :( .

You're not the only one with sleeping issues. I actually wouldnt be surprised if there were many on this very forum that experience pretty much the same problem.

I used to have a very similar problem, very frequent insomnia. At the same time, nasty allergies. And I didnt "do stuff" when I couldnt sleep either, I had to just lie there. This was all during highschool (which was a nightmare itself), so... yeah. Not fun.

Yes, it's unpleasant, but there's not much you can do about it. The advice that my father gave me was simple: "Stop caring or worrying about it. Instead of thinking of the sleep you're not getting, just enjoy the fact that you can lay down somewhere and not have to do anything, and just let your mind wander". That's what he said to me. That actually helped alot. When it happens now, I just... dont really care. I'm lying down and not having to deal with people or things, and that's nice enough (and typically, with this view, I'll eventually pass out like I should). Aint gonna be the solution for everyone of course, but it was in my case. Maybe that's worth trying, who knows?

Also, back pain: Yeah, I understand that one... you have my sympathy on that bit. It hurts, yes? I have tendon and nerve issues myself (focused on 3 places: back, neck, and my right arm), and some arthritis (and I'm WAY to young to be having arthritis, but, got it anyway). There are days when I cant use the computer mouse because my arm is just too wrecked. And there have been days where I cant WALK.

Back pain and related things are annoyingly common, it seems. Ask others for advice on things you could do to help relieve some of it. I dont mean medicine either, that doesnt solve everything, that's for sure. Even something as simple as laying flat on the floor (with something under your head) can help. It isnt comfortable, but what it does is help to straighten out your spine. I have to do that myself. Took awhile to get results, and it's boring to do, but I'm glad I started doing that.

That really depends on the person and their learning style.

What's easy/simple for one person may be hard for another....one person's "hard" is another person's "easy". These things are far from universal.

I think I might.

Based on what you've said, my guess would be that you learn by a combination of doing and seeing, and that you have difficulty translating abstract representations of actions (like images or videos of someone doing something on a computer) to doing those actions yourself in real life, at least when you're first learning .... something like where a person has problems if the image of the computer screen in a video tutorial doesn't look enough like the computer screen sitting in front of them (or when it doesn't look identical to the computer screen sitting in front of them)?

...I do not have a computer of my own (or even my household) , I essentially NEVER have ~ I don't have endless hours to go through a tutorial on one!! !! !! !! ! :(
I don't have the equipment/software to work on , remember ~ Maybe it doesn't come across how DESPERATELY POOR (never mind that I may be now terminally ill  ~ and wonder often if I'll die during the night) I am  ,
