By the way, in the original Red Dawn movie, made in 1984, it was the USSR that invaded America, which at the time was somewhat plausible since the Soviets DID have a huge military, and they DID keep their country which was vastly larger than the US under control. IIRC the Soviets in that movie mainly used mercenaries from Soviet satellite states such as Cuba to terrorize the Americans and fight the American rebels. The Red Dawn remake of a few years ago was originally written so that the Chinese were the invaders. Then the producers ran into financial trouble, and the Chinese approached them and said, hey guys, if you write us out of your movie we'll give you the money you need to make it. So, that's how you got a really stupid movie that was a big waste of time and money, like other stupid remakes such as the redo of Rollerball. I wish Hollywood could actually come up with something original.
Anyway, I think that if North Korea really got out of hand that the Chinese would simply depose Beloved Leader and install a more compliant puppet. You'll note that after Lil Kim got really wacko a few years ago that he suddenly calmed down, now he squeaks a lot but he doesn't get really nutso. I bet that Beijing informed him that he was not indispensable, and put it in a way that he could understand it.
