I wish I was dead
Dude I just overdosed like a week ago,
My point is, being, this as followed, life can get worse, and probably will before its all said and done and life ain't no cake walk. It sucks however, when you fail to see all the things go in your favor vs against you. Life is hard but its not impossible but comments like "your better off then me" focuses sorely on the bad. When I was dying from yet another horrible attempt to end myself this last time, I had an epiphany. It was as followed again. "Wow this sucks I might die and it can get even worse and then worse again but its okay because you have to look at the gifts each moment brings, yeah I am crazy, yeah I am suicidal most days but I have a lot to live for even if for no other reason then for those around you see your good deeds and see your mistakes and declare you a life worth remembering". You see I realized its unlikely you would survive this far if faith was unkind to you at every turn. You might be bad off I don't know, but its not the point. You view is wrong, its not who is better off, its about what you have at all.
Most things go in our favor actually,
A cruel fate is dying by a DUI when you 16 or being molested when your too young to understand, or being harrassed in prison or being in a country where your in prison for life because you had a book that was censored cause of political views.
Better offf then me focuses on those doing better and there are a fair number of people that are doing a fair bit worse.
Remove personal feelings to become objective.

Trying to help her see the good in her life. She's having a s**t time but atleast she's. To alone. I'd love to have a gf while dealing with my s**t life. Currently I have nothing but s**t life. Fyi I was molested as a kid. Turns out a naive kid with autism is a prime abuse target.
Anyways I hope she can get through this. I'd hope her bf wouldn't allow his son t stay if he gets violent around her. I wouldn't allow someone to be violent around my gf if I had one. If not might be sign to end the relationship, find another. She'll have experience which will help. I won't lie being single is horrible, i dont know how much longer I can stand it, but if you found someone then your more likely to find another. You have something people like.
I had a friend live with me and near the end it was terrible he'd get drunk and be violent and emotional. He'd punched a hole at my other friends house. Oddly enough shorter after being kicked out he got a gf with a kid so now has everything I've always wanted and he never wanted.
Hugs again to joe90
Dragnet is trying hard. He's been through a lot. At least he's not Sergeant Friday
You've been through a lot, too, Sly.
It would be great if you both can help each other out.
It's useless to say somebody has it "better" than someone else
Many people have it better than me; and many people have it worse than me.
Hugs to you too. Sounds awful what you've been through.
I've learnt lately, that if I'm going through a difficult situation and another person feels the same way as me about the same situation, I can handle the situation a little better than I think. So in this situation my partner doesn't really want his son living with us and is now getting stressed about it all, so hopefully if we both feel that way then the situation might get resolved more smoothly than if only ONE of us felt unhappy about the son moving in.
I do feel guilty for not wanting his son around, but to be fair his son doesn't have much respect or responsibility, and I wish my partner would learn to put his foot down and say no. I know it's his son, but if the son just wants to lounge about with no money and spending whatever money he has got on drugs and cigarettes, then why should people help him? He's old enough to realise what he's doing now and should be trying to get a job and being more supportive to his girlfriend, who seems a rather nice girl.

Hope situation gets better for you.
Wait she his violent unemployed son has a gf?
Wtf. Is he good looking or are U.K. Women just less meterialistic then American women.
You don't deserve anything nasty and you was not born defective or wrong. You are a wonderful human being.
Yeah, people of all sorts around here seem to land themselves a girlfriend. But don't worry, my NT brother is 30 and has never had a girlfriend and lives at home with his parents. Well, I think he has some sort of personality disorder and depression, not sure if that still makes him NT or not.

Put your foot down. Tell your bf its one or two nights he can stay Max and it shouldn't be a regular thing. My mother has had this nonsense from my fathers ex wives children and some of them were really inconsiderate when they stayed at our house. Social services and the NHS should be dealing with a drug addict, fine to see him, but not your responsibility to put him up.
No not really, its just all lulz to me.
L U L Z
It ain't nothing but a thing,
Choosing between killing your first born for Kim Jong-il ves being ate by dogs, that is a rough day. I don't have rough days, I just have lulz.
And yeah I was born defective too and I still say these things... for the lulz
Its going get worse and your going watch everything around you suffer and die and when your crying home at night over how dark life really is... then your realize you'll die too. Life is a cold hard b***h, it'll never get better, it'll never ever get better. That is life, it'll never improve and its okay because some people are tortured their whole lives and it never improves... ever.
Deal with it basically
You think its bad now, wait until your old and grey, then my friend you'll have seen some s**t. By then your lose everything that matters to you several times over.

I'm wondering why this drug addict son need THREE places to "stay." His mother's, his girlfriend's place, and his dad's.
Why can't he just stay fully with the girlfriend or mother? Or just split time between those two and leave the dad and his fiancee (Joe) out of it? If it's a question of spreading the burden then two homes can do that as efficiently as three.
And I agree with the person who said social services and the NHS should be dealing with this guy if he is technically homeless.
Trouble is, with the government cuts, now, if you admit to the system that someone in your life is willing to give you shelter even temporarily, they refuse to house you. They consider that as being that you do have a place to live -- even if it's on someone's couch, unfortunately. . .
And even if they do "house" you, it's in a temporary bed & breakfast that winds up permanent.

He's "living" at different places because he doesn't want to pay any bills or rent. That is the problem with him.

And you think I wasn't?
s**t is getting pretty f*****g surreal right now on that front for anyone who is not just a complete inapt (Edited out offensiveness, sorry).
I hate pedophiles, they are scum of the Earth.
I think some people like to act out previous abuse but others, others are beyond help.

It sounds to me like this young man is having a lot of difficulty dealing with life. That's similar to you and to a lot of people on WrongPlanet. Your boyfriend is permitting this situation because he has empathy. That may be the reason he is involved with you, someone with only a part-time job that she can barely handle, someone with issues of her own, someone who would like to live for free if that would mean avoiding the ever-present anxiety.
Try to respect your boyfriend's capacity for empathy, but also discuss with him that this situation is not great for any of you. Talk about the ways to limit the downsides, such as a limit on how much space will be given to store the son's belongings and a clear understanding of which days he will be over. Finally, reach out to the son with compassion and interest, and you might find the situation makes you feel good about yourself.
Anyway, that's one alternative to the anger you feel right now, which is not helping anything.
