...Thank you, RR.
I'll see what I can see in that later.
A major problem with any Two-Lane Blacktop " hit the road " scenario is that I'm rippled and I don't have a car.
Furthermore, crippled&Ness aside, there's my curavle - I hope - medical issues - including :( this endlessly postponed " Do I need an eye operation? " question.

drobin62"]Santa Cruz, like Seattle, has a severe housing crisis. There are just too many homeless people and not enough units. I moved to a small town with a shorter (6 months to 1 year) waiting list and now I'm domiciled.

That said, there are lots of subsidized apts in Santa Cruz, but their waitlists are years long. Santa Cruz, like Seattle, has about 12,000 homeless people waiting for places. The wait starts somewhere. Here is some info.

I don't understand people being on SSI and living in hugely expensive pacific coast towns. I would live in a place like Yakima or Spokane in Washington and a place like Fresno or Bakersfield in Cali.

I feel, honestly, that people have a right to live where they want to live....provided they don't inconvenience others in the process.

If a person on SSI wants to live in a place like Pebble Beach, say, I would be okay with it----provided the person doesn't hassle people in Pebble Beach. If the person acts like any other citizen, then what's to stop that person from living there? If a person hassles me, surrounds me, aggressively begs, I wouldn't want him/her living in my town.

Parts of Fresno and some of these other places I wouldn't touch with a ten-foot pole.

I feel, if people act decent, that they have the right to live in decent places.

When I speak of "aggressive begging," I'm not speaking of "normal" begging.

I'm speaking of the folks who surround you menacingly, and/or make you feel guilty for not coughing money.

I feel like every person should have access to beautiful places. Not only the wealthy.

I personally would live in an area that's affordable. One could probably rent a house in lots of towns for what a tiny studio with a long wait list costs in expensive areas. A problem with living in affordable towns is often a lack of good paying jobs, but when on SSI that's not an issue. I think most towns have bad areas. Vegas sure did.

When it comes to begging, then I could see why people would pick an expensive area, especially one with tourists.

That's pretty much my philosophy, too.

But I do find it irritating that rich people sometimes want to hog the beautiful areas for themselves.

It's a good thing we have our National Parks----where anybody could visit.

Lots of wealthy people live in places that don't have the athletics of a coastal region. There are wealthy people who live in the places I mentioned. Bakersfield is the place I know the best out of those and I know it has a rich area with estates and a fancy golf course resort and all that.

Absolutely. There are even wealthy parts of the Bronx.

I think the weather might be an issue.

Pacific coastal towns tend to have moderate climates.

...I happen to be here, anyway! Packing up and going to somewhere cheaper - Where??? - would certainly require a lot of outlay, more than I'd likely " save " any time quickly.
I'm handicapped - and long since don't drive. Moving would be physically difficult, too.
Furthermore. I am, now, at least in line for some medical attention - especially that probable eye operation, I should just forget about that now and hop a Greyhound?
People to talk about " lower cost of living " somewhere presume a larger amount if money and skills/cnfrastructure/credentials to draw on - People talk about such and such a place where " You can buy a post-WWII tract house way cheap!! ! " or " Low taxes and light regulations make this a great place to start a business! ". I'm not in any position to do those things.
As far as getting a job, I'm about as likely to get a job that anybody would pay for as you are, Ezra1 Perhaps some education)training could eventually put me in a " salably employable " position, but that would require, say, some school - and THAT would require getting into school and THAT would require my transcripts from HS and, symbolically anyway, some people here - including, at least in part, YIU, Ezra - feel about THAT. You're absolutely determined that I not lay a hand on my transcripts!

...I was in the ET last night. Briefly enough that I was gone before I could post from there. but...More later.
A bus stop near me had.its bench - where I liked to sit in the sun - removed :( - Presumably to keep the likes of me from hanging out there  . Not the only bus stop bench to've been removed.

redrobbin62 who has been homeless a lot and lives on SSI moved to an area in his state that has more affordable more available housing. I was talking about where I personally would live on an SSI income. That's all. Has absolutely nothing to do with starting a business, getting a job etc. Unless you want to quickly piss away all your estate money, then yeah you should move to a place with more available affordable housing like Robbin did. That's just common sense. These more affordable areas also seem to have better healthcare systems for low income people as well. Snohomish county where I live seems better than King county where Seattle is located. I know because of family that lives in Bakersfield, Kern county has an excellent healthcare system. And a good transit system also.

Back to putting me on a guilt trip I see. All the research I did for you, giving you several sources to get your transcripts counts for nothing I see. Back to telling everyone how evil they are and only wish you misfortune. Same exact bullcrap that has never gotten you anywhere.

You alone are the one keeping yourself from getting your transcripts.

Ezra certainly did his research. I’m not saying to bow down to him. I’m saying don’t berate him. I know he would be happy should you get your transcripts.

He is just primarily still trying to get someone here to get personally involved with him to be his helpmate. His outbursts are a result of not getting that. He doesn't want to be provided with resources, he wants someone here to become his resource and set things up for him like a personal assistant. Nothing less will satisfy.
