Concerned about Doomsday (possible trigger)

I'm a little concerned about seeing humanity ending in my lifetime. In some way I guess it won't be a bad thing, but I still think about how many millennial humanity has survived and evolved thus far, I'd hate being one of the poor people who have to be alive at the end of it.

Now the US is pulling out of the INF Treaty. This is what saved us, and if they choose to pull out, that means nuclear war is bound to happen.

Some members here are thinking that I am worrying over nothing. I don't care, because nobody gets that nuclear fallout can kill you, and everyone is more concerned about the Kuntdashians and the Royal c***s than world peace.

Yup, I think we are f****d.

This morning I saw literally hundreds of robins and blackbirds all in my neighborhood. They were EVERYWHERE. I wonder if it was a sign of this?

It was unnatural is what it was. If it wasn't a divine warning then it's obviously showing that our planet's climate is f****d if literally hundreds of spring birds are gathering around in the grass in WINTER.

Humanity would carry on. We’ve had plenty of resets. So if 3/4 of the population dies the rest will continue and in another thousands years be back to 7 billion people. I’m sure they thought the black plaque was the end of humanity too. Humans overcome.

Putin and Russia never kept to the treaty, why should we? Would yo rather live in a world where USA and Europe have no nukes and Russia and China have thousands? Guarantee the USA would be wiped out.

No it’s not , we’ll just build more nukes is all. No one will use them as long as the other has them too. It actually prevents ww3 if it wasn’t for nukes we’d gone to war with Russia and China in the 60s. But because we had nukes we fought proxy wars instead. Trust me conventional mass bombing of cities kills just as many people. Our nation would be like Middle East, all bombed out. If Iraq had nukes we’d never have invaded them.

Honestly, I'd rather live in a world where there is no nuclear weapons at all. I don't want to be dragged into another arms race. I wish technology is made so I could live on other planets without nuclear weapons so I can be safe.

True but I think Einstein said it can’t be undone as much as he wishes it could.
Reality is more and more nations will get them. As long as one has it others need to to keep them From using it.

Russia’s never kept to the treaty, I doubt it’ll be another arms race as we know today that it doesn’t matter how many you have over a certain number. Like if we wipe Russia out they can’t launch more nor if they wiped us out already to would it matter they have 20 more etc.

Watch the expanse it’s a about the future and there’s a war between humans on mars and humans on earth and they nuke each other, it won’t matter where we go humans kill each other, but we just have to be happy humans also inheritly want to live and as such won’t nuke others in fear of being nuked.
Our nukes have being decaying to useless while Russia builds replacements and new ones. Putin seems to see treaties as hitler didn’t which is not worth the paper their written on.
Take the un arms treaty they and China still ignore it and sell billions of arms to war torn Africa and South America.they also commit human rights violations despite being on the humans rights council. Iran’s lead the council.

I know it’s hard but I find it’s best to try not to think about something that’s out of our control and unlikely to happen.
It’s blue think to be concerned about with nukes it’s a terrorist group getting one.

If you are afraid of a nuclear war or any other doomsday threat, you should become educated about the threat. The belief that an all out nuclear war will destroy all life on the planet is a myth. It will kill many billions of people but many more will live. For many of them, they will experience horrendous side effects. But many will survive because they have a good understanding of the threat and methods to overcome it.

There are many types of potential disasters. Many people will have no idea of the threat and will totally be unprepared. For example a large solar storm could destroy many of the large power transformers thereby taking down the electrical grid. Because these large transformer are unique, special build items with one year or more lead times, it means the population will be without electricity for around a year. Losing electricity for a day or two is an inconvenience, lose it for a year and it becomes a major disaster.

At the moment the Japanese are worried about a massive earthquake. This is because a strange type of fish (a rare serpent-like sea creature called an oarfish) appeared near their shores. If there is a threat such as a hurricane. Do you learn about what precautions to take should one threaten? Or just pretend the threat doesn't exist and ignore it?
