Is it just me or is this really dangerous?

But I think Ferris's suggestions should suffice.

No locks - weird. And kinda creepy.

Norman Bates comes to mind.

I could be being paranoid and prejudiced but...

I'm thinking of getting the door jamb or something like that. Or just a chair up against the door.

I've been googling and really weirdly it's becoming a trend amongst certain hotels. It would be far better if it was just that the hotel owners had a skeleton key. It's about fire safety apparently.

"Fire safety?" I think rape is more common than fires...

I would not go unless (1) I had permission to make my door and bathroom door lock, and (2) I didn't suspect the owners were creepy.

I trust them to be decent people but they're female and younger than me and you are (I'm 31)

So I don't really trust them to not be naïve and I'm afraid they might be fairly weak to stand up to something if something did happen.

Mum says she's going to pick me up if I feel like it's at all sketchy but mum feels like it will be ok so long as I put a chair and a load of stuff against my door. I think I'll get an alarm or something just in case though.

I used to put an empty soft drink can on the doorknob.
Not much good if the place is carpeted though.
