Thanks. Let's just say my mother and I don't get on very well.

My dad was a sweetheart. His side were all ASD-types.

Hugs back to you, for your experiences.

Sigh...

"Just smile!" I would if I were very allowed to punch someone on the face and free of guilt.

"Life is not fair." Because everyone is hypocritical and I wanna to have the same hypocrisy that most people can afford having.

"Don't go out alone/in the dark/walk late/etc." I'm one ungrateful child.

"Where are you going?" Out. Away.

"Just get along with others/You have to get along with others." Please, please someone tell me one can distinguish able to adapt from others as opposed to having to be with others...

"Join them!/Join us!" If I were a social kind of aspie, I'd be in paradise already. But oh, fate, odds and probability or whatever higher being and god placed me here; why did it not had to be one who would've wanted this??

"Stop playing dumb!" Can I tell by body to stop fluctuating and stop being reliable to myself then?

"You should've known that." Know what exactly? What you're thinking? :|

"But the greatest goal in life is (romantic) love!"

"Change your attitude." What attitude? The fact that there's a huge intention and action gap and people assumes what I do is all from intention and so is attitude????!

"It's just you." :x Then no further discussions needed nor you don't need to know.

"So is everyone/everyone deals with it too/it's not just you/etc..." Then there's no need for any discussions at all since so is everyone meaning you ought to 'know' while assuming entitlement and self-centeredness. :skull:

Again -- I wish I can get away with hypocritical rights as some people who can do better definitely. Wish, only so far to desire it but never demand.

Many involving plans and promises... All I ever learned is doubt.

Reading some of these phrases, makes me think I'm quite lucky to have a family that accepts me, even if they don't understand me. Fnord and Isabella, I hope your lives have improved since those awful times. Best Wishes.

Other than those phrases, I've heard the others often enough.

My grandmother's romantic attitude...
"Look with your heart" - what does this even mean?
"You have no heart, only brains" - well, that may explain why I failed with the above, I guess.

Also being consistently called selfish, lazy, hysterical, narcissistic... and then, out of the blue, "my only child of any value" 8O So. F-ing. Confusing.

But I think I'm finally slowly healing. It's the past now.
And some have to live with the scars (ingonyama nengw' enamabala)

"Stop moaning" - I was told this so much as a kid that in the end people said it even if I wasn't moaning. So it got difficult to express my feelings without being told those two words.

Now is not the time!
You have such bad timing!
I can't help you with the kind of problems that you have.
Go ask a prostitute.
Why don't you run away from home.
I just "tolerate" you.
I should've killed you a long time ago.

@Magz: You are a survivor, not a victim (Jesteś ocalałym, a nie ofiarą).

I've remembered more, and put it all in order. Now I feel nauseated.

The Statements:

"All that reading is gonna rot your brain."
"Don't you ever think?"
"Company's coming over; go play in your room."
"Everything you have, I own."
"Get out of my sight; I'm tired of looking at you."
"Getting an 'A' is good, but getting an 'A+' is even better."
"I can't wait for you to grow up and get a place of your own."
"I expected better from you."
"I know what you did, I'm just waiting for you to admit it, and you're going to stay there until you do."
"I wish you'd never been born."
"Look at me when I'm talking to you!"
"Now stop that crying or I'll give you something to really cry about!"
"You always ..."
"You never ..."
"You're so much trouble."
"You'll never amount to anything."
"You're upset over nothing!"

The Questions:

"Do you think you're special?"
"Don't you care about anyone other than yourself?"
"How can I ever trust you again?"
"How can someone as smart as you be so stupid?"
"If you're so smart, how come you don't have any friends?"
"What are you sneaking around for?"
"What's the matter with with you?"
"Who pays the bills around here?"
"Why can't you be more like <person's name>?"
"You think you have all the answers, don't you?"
"WELL? DAMMIT, ANSWER ME!!"

Things Overheard (about me):

"He got it from YOUR family!"
"He's YOUR son, too!"
"If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't have had to marry you!"
"Well, if it wasn't for him, we'd all be better off!"

I'm a survivor, not a victim... I'm a survivor, not a victim... I'm a survivor, not a victim...

I got many of those too

Some same as Fnord's that I can remember right now:

"SHUT UP!! !"
"Get in the corner"
"Get out of my face."
"Look at me when I'm talking to you"
"I'll give you something to cry about"
"You're a stupid idiot"
"What's the matter with with you?"
"There's something wrong with him"

there are more that are mentally buried

You can't feel XYZ, you have no reason to feel XYZ.

"Stop following me"
I felt like punching kids when they said that. I hated being seen on my own and I so badly wanted friends.

Dividing up the class into teams for dodge-ball usually involved a conversation like this.

"HAH! You got Fnordie!"
"No, YOU got Fnordie!"
"I got him last time!"
"So? You got him again!"
"No way!"
"Way!
...

I hated dodge-ball.

I didn't have much social rejection in sports at school, although I wasn't the best at sports but I was hyperactive so was very fast. It was usually the fat kid that got rejected on teams.

But in the playground (at high school) I often had this kind of behaviour:-

Girl passes her sweets around the group but when she gets to me she just gives me a funny look and skips me. But when I'm eating sweets or crisps or whatever, the same girl would politely ask if she can have one. I wish I'd stood up for myself back then and said "no, you never give me any of yours."

"We're adults, so we can do and say whatever we please." And I STILL hate that phrase!

Sorry, I'm just feeling really disillusioned about adulthood. :(
