Again, I’ve only been here 1.5 years, but I couldn’t agree more.

I don't get subtext so it's probably going over my head.

I just think humans are getting worse. Everyone seems to be getting nastier and nastier. Even people I was friends with years ago, when I meet them again they are nasty to me. They aren't the people I remember.

What is happening to the human race.

sorry to see you go ...hard to consistently have decent people on almost any site with this type of set up .

Even more sad that things and peeps got SOOO aweful that you even had to consider leaving .

It's everywhere. I don't even mind it in Adult because that's where it belongs. I'm no prude and I'll joke about sex as much as anyone else. It's seeped out to L&D in particular but also News, Women's, Random, and other places, not to mention PM, email, and other sites where the same offenders like to troll. It's still happening in L&D in several threads despite the warning. It's caused paranoia among men, and hysteria among some women who take sides and blame other women for exaggerating a problem which they personally know nothing about.

I'm not talking about penises but about sexism and accusations of mass-conspiracy gender-war when people try to say we're all equal, or when people gaslight women by telling them their feelings aren't valid --- exactly what's happening in this thread when people are mudslinging about who's to blame while simultaneously spamming lostonearth's goodbye and invalidating her own observations after 13 years of membership.

We don't know WTF lostonearth witnessed or experienced here because she's not here to speak for herself. Please stop and realise she's likely not naming names because she respects people's privacy in the same way some of you aren't respecting hers. For all we know she's reported everything. It's not our place to judge.

This is not a good luck for us at WP. We were already known for blatant sexism and infighting so, frankly, that's why some people didn't speak up sooner. The affected people knew this shit-storm would ensue and they didn't want to deal with all the backlash so they quit the site instead of saying anything. We're supposed to be helping and supporting one another rather than posting denials, joining sides, or suggesting women are wrong. Maybe some of you didn't see it for yourselves because we were lucky enough to be unaffected. You should be glad.

It's a huge insult to WP when someone like lostonearth35 says she's leaving and tells us exactly why, but a few casual apologists still turn it into a three-ring circus rather than actually wishing her well.

I think the responses in this thread are actually empathising with the OP.

And many people don't like writing a goodbye post because they fear the responses will just be "they just want attention" or "they'll come back, they always do". Thankfully no-one has wrote that in this thread and were actually more sympathetic than anything else.

I just know how the OP feels.

I asked where two other members were yesterday but my post was removed. Now I'm wondering WTH happened to them.

I hope lostonearth comes back in the future.
