Crisis of faith
How did this thread get so far off track?
I got better briefly but am on the verge of going downhill again (dont mean to sound like a whiny drama queen). It is currently the tiny details of my obsessions that are keeping me going, but my concern is that I am heading into a time where I wont have energy time or resources for my obsessions.
Any comments that do not involve spending money?
I am getting really sick of the way things are going for me. It is as though I am not meant to have any kind of life outside of work.
If I work, I have no time or energy for me. If I dont work, I have no money which means no food etc. part time work is all well and good, if you can get it. Currently my entire being hangs on the whim of a woman who went and had a kid. It is nearing the end of my contract and she still has yet to make up her mind. why is it considered ok for a persons life to hang like that because another person cant decide?
Hi Lessian,
Sorry about that! I failed to recognize that you are in Australia. Wagglepop is open to sellers in the US, Canada, and UK. We can sell to several other countries (including Australia), but people can not sell from Australia. I asked about it and was told that the site will probably not be open to Australian sellers in the future, BUT a country-specific sister site is likely to happen. That could be very cool.
I also tried to find out which site would be best to try given that you are in Australia, and eBid is what was recommended to me. I was told that it is free to use.

Anyway, I'll try to get back on track. Your main problem seems to be not really feeling as though your life has a purpose / not seeing what your life's purpose is. I have an idea that might help you. You may not like this idea, but I'll post it anyway. There is a book by Rick Warren called "The Purpose Driven Life". It was written to answer the 'What on Earth am I here for?' question. Even if you don't believe in the Christian way of looking at life (as I do), it still could be interesting for you to read the book and see someone else's perspective on the issue. I have the book and am not using it, so I'd be happy to send it to you if you can PM me your mailing address.
Thanks all for your support and responses. I do appreciate it and also realise that I am wallowing a bit. Sometimes during my darkest hours, I cant do anything but wallow.
I do have job skills and experience, but none of it seems to matter. I have registered with countless temp agencies, and every single time a job comes up (even the lower level ones), there always seems to be someone better suited.
The only reason why I have my current job is because it is the parent organisation that owns the employment agency that my case officer works for. basically, he pulled strings to get it for me. and also the fact that it is a charity org for disabled people, which means that they need the bonus money the gov gives them for hiring a disabled person. I am not knocking the job or the people, merely pointing out that it was not through my skills or experience that I got the job, but chance and luck.
It is only a temp job with a neutral maybe on being kept after the contract runs out.
But its not even the current employment status that is getting me. its the lack of any kind of purpose to my existance. I am not doing anything that in any way helps to improve myself or those around me. Nor am I in a position to do so unless someone or something relents and helps me out a little bit. I have the dream, the ambition, the determination, but not the resources. and I cant get the resources until I can sort myself out with a good job to pay off my debts etc.
My dream is to have my own retail business selling things like arts, crafts, music, natural and herbal health and beauty etc. the focus will be on helping the little people get themselves into the world and give them an opportunity to get started. Kind of like a jamie oliver for the art world.
