It depends on the person. My dream life is to live in an apartment with my friends but have a room for myself and my girlfriend, that is if I get one  .. But anyway thats just me, maybe other people would like to have rooms as well but if theres no choice I wouldnt have a problem with taking the living room floor or couch, Ive done it loads of times before I dont mind it at all.

I know how you feel, I want that too, where everyone has their own personal space with their own mysterious stuff and that!

But this is just temporary, remember. We'll work and very VERY soon have money to buy land and trailers!

Okay; when is everyone ready to go? Me, I'll be applying on the 11th, when I see my shrink next and I can get him to give me a note saying I need my own room. Username88 wants it ASAP. Kilroy will be ready very soon, he never said when exactly.

heh, when u originally posted the commune thing I thought u guys were kidding, but I see you are very serious. I wish you success if this is what you guys really want, but honestly, i dont see why u guys just dont wanna make your own lives where you are, why do you guys need to all live together, everyone needs space, just cause u all shair the same DX does not mean you will all be compatible.

I dont want anybody to get mad at me, I really want everyone to find happyness and acheive what they want in life, I just must say honestly, how long it took me to achieve what I have in life, I really dont think this commune thing will work the way u guys want it to. Their is alot more to home ownership they I think you guys realize. Just, all I can say, if u r serious, do resherch, make informed desisions, it just sounds like you guys want to have this, but have no real down to earth way to make this happen, this is just what I see.

Just be careful, is all, i think u guys r much better off making a life for yourself independenly of others, your aspie commune I doubt will ever work, and I am a home owner and i struggled for years just to get everything i need and now im locked in for many many years to come.

I really wish that would be possible, but in our current situations we just cant. We have no one to emotionally support us and nowhere to go unless we want to make our lives more miserable. We dont want that. We feel that if we have eachother and work together our lives will be much more worth living, and we will have the happiness we deserve. Personally I dont see how this idea could possibly be lacking any logic at all.

Woodsman25, we can go to school together and take what we want... we can still live our lives the way each of us wants to live our own, but we'll be doing it in the company of each other!

As for the homeowning thing, trailers are dirt cheap and so are vacant lots! We can keep an apartment in the city if we have to (or just live in the trailer(s) in aparking lot or trailer park) while we're going to school and/or working, but still own land in the country where we have trailers...

Firstly - Good luck.
Secondly, what an ambitious plan for people who have only met on-line, you are a brave group who embark on this.

A little story...

In November 1993 [spring downunder] Myself, my Girlfriend of the time and some friends moved onto a piece of bush clad mountain top [and side] in the northwest of the south island.
We were a group of misfits and another chap among us was definitely Aspergers while the others were just bohemian [refugees from modern life]. Our intention was to build a community, eventually running small sustainable business ventures and growing our own food etc...
Well it wasn't long till the conditioning of our individualistic societies undermined our ambition. We demolished an abandoned house in the valley and trucked 85% of the materials up onto 'the hill' with the intention of building a shared dwelling that would later become the communities central building, our own wee whare nui. Well by the time we had finished the demolition and transportation we had agreed to divide the materials and 'do our own thing'.
None of us had enough materials to build a substantial shelter given that we were at the snow line on the top of a frigging mountain, lol!
Well one by one we drifted away, I myself being the last to abandon our by now shattered dream, that was in the June once the first dusting of snow had forced us to give up.
I still feel a deep attachment to that place, but being there is just sad, it looks like an abandoned survivors camp, all half done, temporary feeling and quickly abandoned...
I don't want to dampen your dream, but tread carefully down that path if you intend to finish the journey, peace j

heh, indeed, i did not think that perhapse you guys were unhappy with your current situations and whats why you wanted to move. Indeed, trailers and emply lots are cheap, but will require alot of work, fiscal responsibility (for all of you) a finacial plan and remember, you will be paying tax (i only know about the US, canada im less farmiliar with.

I wish you the best of luck, indeed, be very careful and have a backup plan just in case. Its nice to be able to rely on eachother but since I left my parents house a few years ago I refuse to rely on anybody except myself because when you do ppl tend to let ya down, i only trust myself, and thats half the time.

Keep us posted about your progress, i hope this will make u all happy

There's probably no way that I could possibly meet any of you in person. I don't think any of you were at the Autism Walk in Sumner. Plus, not many of you really know me that much.

I'd love to meet up with some of you. :)
Well - wouldn't mind meeting up with all of you if I could help it but some live too far away lol. I see there are some Londoners here though. :D And British people. When I'm a little older who knows - I could go meet some other Wrong Planet members who reside elsewhere in the world. :)
