A tragedy... R.I.P

I can't explain it, but there is a sense of respect you can have for someone who ends their own life. Not all of us are capable of it. These are depressed fellow humans that, having no idea what sort of hell might very well be awaiting them on the other side, decided enough was enough.

It is unfortunate that he did this. What's even more unfortunate, is that this is only a single suicide in a long series of AS suicides to come.

I knew the name and know Starbuline was friends with him.
Sad situation, one cannot begin to imagine how bad one must feel to be able to put a final plan into action knowing that will be it, no comeback.
Hope whatever comes next is more pleasant than what he found here.

So sorry to hear this sad news. I wish we here at WP, or someone, could have helped you, to bear your life. But it was your choice. You must have been in a lot of pain.

And it reminds me, we should be kind to each other.

While I barely knew him, only a few interactions here and there, I read many of his posts and was shaken when I heard the news. Just a few weeks ago he started a thread about being so happy and getting a new start with some positive changes in his life. About the same time I saw his real picture for the first time. A very nice looking young man with a rapier wit. He is missed deeply by many who knew him online and I hope they can come through this with something positive.

I gave him a ration of crap over locking a "Last Person To Post Wins" thread in order to claim victory. I had been the previous poster and called him on it. His response..."Hey, nobody said it was against the rules!"

Aw man...this is so sad.

It is so hard to fathom...someone you have seen in an internet environment not existing anymore, as you can still read their posts and see their photos they posted etc... I mean, I don't believe death is the end, full stop, nada, but regardless, it is so unfathomable that what is left behind is just posts...memories for those who knew him etc.

We live in an increasingly terrible world....

Helsinger, I know what you mean. When I hear of someone dying of disease, I don't really respect them. When I hear of someone being murdered, I respect them a little more. When I hear of someone committing suicide, I respect them even more. I don't want them dead! I wish they weren't. But the fact that they made such a difficult decision and carried it through, makes them sort of heroic I guess. When I heard of someone dying of disease, it just makes them seem helpless and sedentary and... I can't explain it. When someone is murdered it means they had some quality that someone wanted to kill. And that makes me respect them.


I used to think/feel that way, at least. Not so much any more. I understand a LITTLE better now.

I actually remember him. RIP KingCrimson, hopefully you're finally home.

This is sad, I can't think of what to say, I talked to him a a few times and he seemed a nice and centered guy. I couldn't believe it at first.

It depends on how it's done. People who just shoot themselves don't impress me. However, the man who spent weeks constructing a guillotine and used it to behead himself... now there's An Hero for you.

There are a few situations in which it makes sense, but most of the time it's just because of emotions getting out of control in a moment of weakness, which is why it's tragic.

..did you even know him? I don't think you should make a thread about someone if you didn't even care for them.
