Yeah, you do. I'm over 40, and still have to force myself to do the routine stuff much of the time.
Fortunately, forcing yourself to do it becomes routine, too.
Sometimes I stop, and things break down a little. Then, I get back into gear and clean stuff up. No big deal, if you catch yourself in time.
The way things start to go downhill when you stop forcing yourself, motivates you to keep doing it.
As an aspie, you can apply your intellect to this problem just as you do to more abstract questions. Think of different ways to approach it, and keep trying until you find ways that work for you.
Keeping your physical stuff organized is key. I'm huge on shelves and baskets.
