Perhaps it is a paranoia, perhaps something else: But thinking that you are "being controlled by the government and the aliens" or that "nanobots" in your body are "turning into metal" shows a serious distraction from reality to an extent that professional help is certainly needed.

If this is just your sense of humour, than I must say, it is a quite sick one.

I see a psychologist, a psychiatrist, and a case worker. My psychiatrist is evil because he thinks I am nuts! He thinks my delusions are bizarre! Evil!! !! !! !! I'm expecting him to say like from the movie Austin Powers, "I will hold the world ransom for $100 BILLION dollars!" and do that thing with his fingers next to his mouth. By the way, as I said before its not a joke. I get "thought insertion" that tells me weird things and I have proof that it is happening to me.

I did not mean to be insulting when I asked if you were joking.
If you are truly concerned, talk to your doctors before the MRI. Tell them your concerns.
I hope all goes well, and I hope that your problems are dealt with.

I am calm. It does seem like an insult. What, you actually talked with other people on this board and they think I should be kicked off the Internet? With all due respect, those delusions do sound bizarre. I mean, what's the deal with the metal in your body, aliens controlling you, government spying on you, and your body turning into a robot? I'm sure it's not a joke, but the description of your experience sounds so unusual and outlandish, that it's very easy for people to mistake it for a joke, even for aspies. Your psychiatrist acted unprofessionally by saying you're bizzare, but he/she has a point. Those delusions are hurting you, so you need to get them taken care of. At the minimum, go see a different specialist; he/she may prescribe you necessary medication, rather than simply judge you.

MRI's are fun -- you should be excited!! I've had one, and I think that many folks on here would be jealous of you. Don't worry, they're not that bad. Although I must warn you that they are as big as a room, and they make funny noises, like a car motor almost, plus they take hours. That's the gists of it, and if you think these things would be a problem, I wouldn't go for it. But I'm sure you don't have any implants and/or such to cause you dire reprocussions. If you're lucky, you'll learn a lot about the functioning of your brain, and how if differs from the majority.

Don't fret Firebird; you'll be fine.

would it be possible to have a general anaesthetic before the MRI so do not know anything about it till wake up?
One of the ladies am live with is having some sort of big scan done soon [not sure what type] and because she has severe challenging behavior they are doing a general anaesthetic first.
glad am have not had to have one,have heard bad things about MRIs [noise].

it is not fair to say FireBird is faking it,she's a long time member on the forum who has extra stuff going on,if can not accept its real,at least accept it may seem real to FireBird,the schizo* spectrum can give many types of visions/beliefs that those without a schizo* disorder don't get.
am have known a few men with schizophrenia through sisters' old work and LD services and they all had different visions/beliefs ranging from thinking they were the devil,a soldier from world war II to a police man [using their bus pass as a police badge].

I think you'll be fine Firebird, nothing actually touches your body so all you have to do it just lie back and try to relax. You will have a panic button so you can stop it if you need to, but I don't think either you or the machine will come to any harm. Hope it goes OK. Don't worry about the metal, I've got a metal strip in my spine and that didn't do anything to the machine when I had one a few years ago.
