High school right now is terrible. One of my best friends tossed me aside because I won't do weed, my grades absolutely suck and I'm in a little bit of danger of failing 11th grade, I can't tell if this girl likes me and she's my only prospect, and since my parents got divorced in June, my mom can't really afford the upkeep too well on this house. My favorite thing to do right now is sleep and the only thing I'm looking forward to until school ends in June is my birthday next month. I've never been so depressed in my life.

Will life always suck this much or does it ever get any better?

DO NOT SMOKE WEED! or drink or whatever. that's for losers (and we have some of those here on *P)

Losers? I'm sorry, but this is clearly an ignorant statement :?

Now then, of course life gets better. It's all about finding yourself, which has already been suggested. You may be afraid at first, possibly not even want to be found. Just keep searching, perhaps even find an outlet to express (not suppress) your self. I'm sorry your best friend sort of tossed you aside. Sounds like an ass to me, and all over weed? Give me a break. He or she sounds like someone seeking social status, per usual in the high school universe. In short, they're dumb.

Can't tell if a girl likes you? I'll tell you now, I had the same problem in high school. My biggest regret is still not having asked her out. Don't be afraid of rejection. This will be the death of you if you continue on that path.

Trust me, look forward to getting out of high school, that hell pit. There is so much more to life than that herd of cattle.

Now I'm going to Myrtle Beach for the weekend and the thought of that girl is going to be bothering me the whole time. But I might still be able to play PS3 online with her if my dad remembers to bring it.

She's my only shot at a GF in high school. I want to make absolutely sure she's inteerested first before I ask her out though. I don't know why but I keep thinking it would be weird if I asked her out again and she still didn't like me.

I want her sooooo bad.

:P

I've always figured that those who spend so much of their time pursuing the vapid nonsense in high school like being the cheerleader, football player or most popular person around ended up packing my groceries at the local store. Has happened. What amuses me the most, however, is how so many of them in US colleges still think that the formula works after high school. So many silly football players and cheerleaders who get more funding and support than the real academics. Speaks a lot for the US education system, eh? But I digress.

Just keep in mind to not be afraid of making mistakes when it comes to social fuckups. This is how we Aspies (or at least "My Way of the Aspie") learn how to survive socially, instead of shying away from everything. s**t, dude, I'm in the military. I'm more liable for tongue-lashings and all sorts of punishments because of my social awkwardness that my superiors label as "rude" behavior.

My solution to social awkwardness? Like I said, make mistakes, and don't be afraid of it. It doesn't matter if you get someone insulted for life. He's one in a world of 3-4 billion people. What matters is that you learn from what went wrong with the guy you insulted. What words did you speak, or actions you carried out that peeved him? Approach it like a math problem. Just like a math problem, don't be afraid of mistakes. It only matters when you learn.

As for the girl, sod it. Just go for her and ask her out, for Christ's sake. Playing looking games is not going to net you anything at all. Treat it as part of my solution: go for it, don't be afraid of making mistakes. Who the f**k knows, you might come off as either confident, or if you do f**k up, an earnest but goof-off dude. Guys who wait or think about signs of "absolute interest" are going to wait for the rest of their bleeding lives.

^^ I like your philosophy NEWater. Good advice there.

The person who never made a mistake never made anything else either.

On drugs including alcohol: To take poison voluntarily is not logical.

I would give anything to go back to start high school again. I would try to do better.
