A Night at the Hospital, and a run-in with the police
I remember a recent run-in with a cop who saw me walking on a high divider in the middle of a street.
I asked, "Is this illegal?" and he said, "No, it's just stupid!" which I felt was rather rude for a cop. So I responded, "Stupid in your opinion."
He pulled over and seemed to try to intimidate me, asking, "Have you ever been arrested before?" I ended up telling him that I didn't like to be called stupid, and even recited seven definitions of the word for him. Eventually, he said, "I'm sorry," and backed off.
I think the best way to handle situations like that is to be polite, say "Sir," and stand your ground with all your dignity. You may ask yourself, "Would it be reasonable for him to arrest me for this?"
I don't recommend lying or taking the offensive, however.

*applauds* Good show sir! And don't worry about me, I'm always very polite and compliant. That way, if they wanna start s**t, it'll be their fault, not mine.
Feeling better now, for someone who just had 5 teeth pulled this morning, blegh
To 'irishwhistle' - your remark was kind of cold, but I guess I deserved it.
Now then, I feel now I should at least explain the why of my desperate call for attention; I don't call what I did suicide: I call it an affective way to separate myself from my family, since I can't drive. I figure, I'll get free r+b for a little bit while I calm down, so why not? heh.
Anyways, it all happened because my mother thought I was going to lay harm on the smallest of our 3 cats, simply because minutes earlier, I got upset when I stepped in its puke *in my bare FEET* while trying to get ramen. All I was doing was some vigorous petting, and saying things like 'you're a bad girl, aren't you?'...when my mother, seeing my hand around the cat's neck for a split second, said in the most serious of tones, "Don't you dare hurt her!"
That scared and intimidated the f**k out of me! I honestly do NOT lay harm to animals because of actions they do which they have no control over! But no, my mom honestly believes I AM the kind of cruel bastard that WOULD dish out harm to an innocent animal....
And that's why I took those pills.
my mother still thinks im gonna get a job, wife and a car.
she even talks about "when" i will get my drivers license.
"when" i get my paychecks and stuff.
she will always imagine that i am just ONE DAY AWAY from job, wife and car.
thats how well parents know their offspring, sometimes.

Well I have had encounters with some very stupid drivers, they are not too bad it is the ones which throw beer cans at your car or try to run you off the road which get on my nerves.
I just try to pull over and slow down and let them zoom off on their path to self destruction, I tend to meet them at the next set of traffic lights. So all they gain is a few meters.
Try to just forget about the drivers which get on your nerves and then get on with the rest of your trip, you will feel much better that way than you will if you bottle up your rage and anger before driving the rest of the way in a stinking foul mood. It is not easy to forget about some jerk who cut you up but if you can then it will make your life a bit better.

I am not a jigsaw, I am a free man ! Diagnosed under the DSM5 rules with autism spectrum disorder, under DSM4 psychologist said would have been AS (299.80) but I suspect that I am somewhere between 299.80 and 299.00 (Autism) under DSM4.
you are smart. I'm 39 and spent 5 years living full time traveling the USA in a motorhome.
People are so selfish in cars. It is the raw power of the machine, it is so self-serving. I don't think 1/2 of them their mind can deal with that kind of power and influence over death.
So many don't question it. Otherwise perfectly friendly people, i ride with them in a car - and their personality changes to an extreme.
