I don't know what's so bad about Patterson other than what ASS-P says here on WP , but here ya go:
1. There are 1,555 small US cities with a population (10,000 to 24,000) that is roughly the same as Patterson (21,000).

6. Racially and politically, Stanislaus County leans to the left especially in blueish Patterson which is roughly 50% white and 50% Hispanic.

7. A cursory glance through the Police Logs in the Patterson newspaper shows that a lot of crimes are property-involved as well as speeding, domestic violence and vandalism.

11. Patterson, CA has one homeless shelter - HOST House at 405 So. 4th St. (209)894-2652. (HOST stand for Helping Others Sleep Tonight). They also have the Medical Mobile Unit conveniently come to the center every so often.

12. Community Services Agency West County Service Center is at 101 West Las Palmas Ave., Patterson, 8 blocks away from El Solyo near Patterson City Hall, the US Post Office, two city parks, and several supermarkets. They're open Mon-Fri 8am to 5pm and offer typical gov't assistance such as Welfare to Work, WIC, food stamps (CalFresh), MediCal, etc.
