He can't stay on the streets forever. Just get his details in the system, you did the right thing by reporting him - you're not a grass if that's what you're worried about.

That's not you doing something wrong, that's the negligence of the police. If anything, they're doing something wrong. And there is too something you can do. You just don't want him near you.
