I had suspected it for a while, I kept telling people and we finally tested. I get ill every time I have certain foods. It had almost become a joke with family and friends.

the update....

good news is I have graduated from walker to cane. I am physically stronger and I think things are really going to improve. We've discovered I have celiac disease which roughly means I'm mal nourished... (slowing down the recovery process) and keeping the brain from working correctly.

I'm making a real effort to stop the negative thinking and that's helping too. God it's hard, but I'm doing it.

The bad news is: my mother has re;ocated to be close and micromanage my recovery, She's still working to talk me out of my relationship.... but I'm pretty determined to make things work.

I thought we needed a little positivity in the Haven.

Yay for graduating! I wish you much progress!! !

YAY!! ! I'm so happy you've upgraded to a cane! You're awesome!!
Of course the celiacs would slow down your recovery. I'm surprised your dad wouldn't think so. I know doctors aren't too thrilled with alternative medicine, but if you're malnourished your muscles and nerves and mainly your brain wouldn't be functioning at its best. Not to mention your immune system.
I'm so excited for you! You could start making huge strides in your recovery!
Oh, and tell your mom you heard her opinion, and now she can stop talking about it. The end.

I've been on the cane before, but had another bleed and regressed some, but I am hoping that this is it. The nutritional component seems to be the missing piece. I would assume my dad is in denial because he didn't think of it first.

I wish my mom would get over it. I have asked her to stop. She is a special, special woman though.

Haha! Well, I guess it's good you recognize your moms special qualities. Your dad will feel silly too when he sees your progress.
