I was kind of viewing it as a once and done deal, as in I was going to make some sort of awesome breakthrough and it would be 'smooth sailing' from there, which, in hindsight, is unrealistic. I guess it's better to view 'healing' (whatever that means) as an ongoing process that can be managed and encouraged along, but not necessarily resolved or completed?
Absolutely. That's why the theme of recovery is "one day at a time."
