Had it with multi player games. Abuse isn't for me.

I've only ever played Guild Wars with my status set as offline. I have zero desire to play with other people. And the times when I've had the chat window displayed so that I could see other people's conversations I wanted to bang my head on the desk, so I can definitely understand why you would feel that way.

Offline games for the way! Especially RPG/Action adventure games!! ! I wouldn't mind a single match of first shooter or strategy game online , but RPG??? Hell no!

Gaming was always an UNSOCIAL activity, where loner people can have fun in their dark room totally isolated from the outside word and its crap.

Who needs the social crap in gaming?

I would kill myself if I see a game in the future called "The World of Zelda"..

That brings back memories of being 11, shut off in my room with my Zork games on my Commodore 64 and a growing pyramid of empty Coca-cola cans.

*sigh* Zork games, they don't make good and weird puzzle games like this anymore.

This is exactly why I never post in the haven! I'm never entitlted to my own feelings. If I get harassed and called names, "f**k you lienda, you f***ing b***h." I have gotten CRAP and gotten CRAP since I was in KINDERGARDEN!! ! I've seen a victims arm get broke and tiwsted! I've ran from class rooms out of fear of my life!! !! I was tramatized in gradeschool, and humiliated day in and day out with peer abuse! My father money guilt tripped my entire life. Both my parents chewed me out, one time or other, because MY VOICE didn't sound lady like enough for them!!

Many times when I want to talk to them about my feelings, they call it drama, or tell me stories about someone else to keep me quiet. Mother read more out of her books, and father worked more at his repair job, than I got quality time out of! Little sister got two birthday parties, before I had all mine with invited kids, most of whome didn't like me anyway.

I'm been isolated and shunned at work places! Laughed at in my college work project group! People set up my sister with dates, but never bat an eye at me. My neighbores walk by my window to mock my singing, and privacy once in a while! Some of their kids toss me racial slurrs!! Sometimes I fill out applications, so managers can practice their interview skills, or tell me how dumb they think I am. I play a game, and every time I run into some stupid little bastard who wants to control someone else's every move! Twice, I start a thread in the haven, and get attacked in it. I can't wait for your two thugs to tear my suidcidal ass apart!

TOUGHEN UP, MY ASS! Why don't you walk a mile in my shoes!

I'm living your life right now Lienda. You're not alone. My parents wont even let me bring up the subject of Asperger's in our home and call B.S. on all of my social and emotional difficulties. My dad is always calling me lazy and my mom kept calling me a baby all day. They refuse to accept the idea that my social difficulties and anxieties make it completely impossible for me to get a job. My friends from college made their butt monkey. And strangers have been known to tease me and harrass me in public. These are just some of the reason why I refuse to get a job or even social network anymore.

LiendaBalla,

I am sorry that you've come to hate WoW. I enjoy the game, but like you, I do not enjoy the jerks playing the game.

My main character is now 70th level, and has come that far without any help from any guild. It has a flying mount, and I just purchased the "license" that allows it to fly everywhere except Northrend. I have all the expansions.

I also thought that I'd make new friends through WoW, but that isn't the case. My character is a Shadow Priest, and even though it can go toe-to-toe with 70th-level monsters and win, whenever I join a raid group, they treat my character like just another healing battery. Then, if I'm really lucky, they will occassionally let me pick over the items they don't want.

So here's my plan: Level up to maybe 80th, switch to pure healing talents, and then hire my character out for gold up front. That means that if they want me to be their healing battery, they will have to pay for it - perhaps 1gp per level from each character...

I play on the Eldre-Thalas server.

Fnord

I'm sorry to hear that WoW has started to annoy you.

What you could do:
- If it's your guild, make a rank called "No swearing" and untick the box for "allowed to speak in guild chat". If someone swears, demote them to that rank. Promote them to their old rank after an hour, or a day. If they keep swearing after having experienced that a few times, kick them. Be sure to state this beforehand.
- Raids are about taking down a boss. Bosses have mechanics, like a wave of water going back and forth. If you stand in that, you die. If too many people die, you can't kill the boss in time. If you choose to raid, you basically accept that you have to use tactics, otherwise you can't really get anywhere. So if you don't like being told when to move or cast, you shouldn't be raiding.
- Tell people to get lost if they bug you.
- Report abusive people to a game master and/or switch on the filter to block most of the swearing.
- Join a social guild to avoid all (or most) of the elitist junk. They tend to raid a few times a week, and they tend to avoid all that elitist junk. This means you can avoid the raiding with random people.
- If you plan on raiding with random people, either set up the raid yourself, or accept there being requirements. Nobody feels like boosting random (poorly geared) people, and only the elitist stuff like itemlevel averages and dps parses provide factual information about someone's potential. Few people speak the truth by saying "no" when asked "can you do x amount of dps?" As a result, people are pretty much forced to use elitist stuff if they want the raid to go anywhere.
- Join battlegrounds, nobody can make you play a certain way there. Some try, but nobody can force you. If the abuse gets too much -> ticket their name, realm and time of occurance to a game master. Of course, not trying to be the best you can be gets you killed fast and often. (this means using or at least looking at that elitist stuff to see if you can become better / PVP also has a -lot- of "move there now", "cast this spell now", and so on.)
- Join dungeons using the random dungeon finder (list as dps). This also has tactics like with raids, but to a smaller degree.
- There is a fine line between people wanting to help other people, and people ordering orders what to do. You could tell the first "Thanks, I might do something with that." or "Thanks for the input, but I'll stick to this setup". You could tell the latter "Go bug someone else." or something along those lines.

Alternatively, look for another game.
Guild Wars 1 is pretty decent.
Costs like 20 dollar/euro for the game + all expansions. No monthly fees.
You can get to level 20 in a week, and there is no higher level.
All max level weapons/armour are equal in terms of stats, there just are several possible models.
Which means that there can't be much elitist stuff as everyone has equal potential. You don't even have to play with other people, as you can take a full group of NPC's to fight alongside you.

Guild Wars 2 is in development. This won't have any NPC parties from the look of it. Groups will be just people being in the same area fighting towards a goal. Everyone gets points for that if they accomplish the task, and they can buy their own stuff off some vendor -> no fighting over stats with others.

I happen to play GW1 every so often. It's fairly nice. I'm in an alliance (group of guilds) that tolerates absolutely no swearing whatsoever.
