I mentioned off label use of oxytocin nasal spray that appears to treat a large core or
autisic associated symptoms in your first thread here.

The reason we're saying 'see a professional; call a hotline' is that we can only do so much, though we care deeply. I just wanted to mention another thing about depression - when we're depressed our brain chemistry is such that it's difficult if not impossible to remember what feeling decent feels like. That's one reason to get help. I've been suicidal; I know how bad it is. I've had psychiatrists, and have one now, and wouldn't want to be without one because the depression gets treated, I do feel better, and they're the specialists in it.

I hope this doesn't sound harsh; I'm overly blunt sometimes and I'm not meaning to be, but there's no valid reason to kill yourself at age 16 or 17, not knowing all the good that may be ahead of you. Life circumstances change, our moods change, just having AS is not an automatic sentence of lifelong misery. A lot of people here are doing really well, others hanging on pretty darn well, and you can take them as an inspiration - a lot of them were just as miserable at your age.

Please take care of yourself, and if you can't, tell somebody so you can be taken-care-of for a little while till you feel better.

I was going to say that too. The depression hoodwinks us into thinking we'll always feel bad. It's so not true. Depression is fixable...please see your psych. or GP if it would be quicker to get an appointment with him/her. Being on the spectrum is copable-with, and it gets easier as you get older.
Also, if it helps to talk to us too, keep talking Aspie17. A lot of us have felt what you are feeling now, so we do understand.

Dont do it , it goes wrong too often and then you will be left feeling guilty and humiliated . Things can get better i have read posts on here from people who cope admirably with the issues autism causes , now im not saying we can all cope that well but when your alive you do have at least the oppurtunity to look for help , change and coping skills . I dont know if you have a psychiatrist , if you don't i strongly suggest you get yourself one now , don't do what i did and wait till your at the bitter end , I dont know how close you are to that , but you sound close enough to me to be in need of real help, more than the help people on a forum can offer even with the best intentions. i was where you are just a couple of months ago , I'M on new meds now and am much more stable and i appear to be coping better than i was , i havent done anything stupid for 5 weeks now , so belive me i havent forgotten what is like , its too recent for me to have forgoten , thing is your very young and so much changes as you get older, i'm not gonna bull s**t you that its easy because it isn't , but somethings are worth fighting for , and the future is one of them . Please don't do anything until you have spoken to a proffesional mental health team worker and considered all the options , there are possibly options that you aren't even aware of at this moment in time . be sure to let us know how your doing. also know your not alone in your thoughts many people have been there before , many still are , but they alive and fighting for there future , just like i am and i hope you will stay with us for that fight.

So glad to hear it!! ! Are you considering some of the suggestiongs we're making? Are they making any sense at all? Depending on the depth of your depression, they might not, but sometimes it's best to get help anyway, even if it seems hopeless. That's when we need it most. Believe me, I speak from plenty of experience. I may have said this before, but I'm not meaning to be pushy. I just want you to have the benefit of what others of us have gone through.

Yeah that's hard but you know something I HAD IT WORSE!! !
I still do...
and I refue to give up man-your like 16, you have your whole life ahaid of you-and you wanna quit because you can't climb the wall...
man seriously-I've had it worse off than that-I still don't have it good-and I wouldn't commit suicide for anything!
I'm 18 now...and still get angry sometimes about those things but I try to take the things I enjoy (like music) and listen all the time. You just gotta find something you love to get your mind off your current situation

Kilroy,

Cool, we're alien brothers too!

aspie17,

We're all here for you and we'll all listen to whatever you say.... Know that a lot of us have been there, though we'd never assume to know what you "feel"..., we’ll listen to your pain with familiar ears....
