I know hun, and short term it might feel like it makes things worse because it brings all the feelings to the surface. Thing is though, if you DON'T talk about it then you'll internalise it all and it'll make things a hundred times worse in the long term.

Yes em remember. You are a woman, you can hold onto these feelings for years just to spew them on someone else like its their fault. Better drop them off at a psych.

I used to scare people off by spritzing body spray/deodorant over a lighter  but that's also good until the flames climb the spray and explode the can and your hand... you can only do it for a fraction of a second at a time >.<

Pretty much any spray by itself makes a good weapon against the eyes though. Maybe you could take a travel-sized deodorant spray around with you in your pocket? It's not going to have you arrested like a knife might, and less likely to be used against you, I think. This may sound really stupid, and I realise it might be, but an attacker is probably more likely to be surprised if you whip out a little pink can covered in hearts - they probably expect you to have a knife or gun  or you could get a personal attack alarm...?

Ah so that's the key to winning that s**t. I have sausage thumbs and always lose.
