Thanks Misslizard. The nurses in the hospital took two hours to get to her and give her the meds, which was really frustrating. She was crying the whole time but we came and got their attention and they gave her the meds.

I have severe asthma and went to the emergency room instead, thought that might do some good. My Oxygen levels were 2 points below perfect, but I am still experiencing serious issues with my breathing regardless of having high oxygen levels, and not sounding congested, They don't seem to know or feel like I have that much wrong with me. I may go back again today when it gets bad, since they want me to be coming in showing the obvious signs of having a serious problem, it is like they want me to come in near death or suffering terribly just to prove it.

So much drama

I'm glad to hear she is getting relief, hope that your breathing gets better.
Do you think you may be having some anxiety issues with all the stress that you are going through?A bad anxiety attack can make breathing difficult.Once when I was having bad spells of vertigo they couldn't find out why,and there was no way to get to the doc while it was happening, how could anyone safely drive?I did my own research and found out Depakote can cause severe vertigo,I went off it and never had vertigo again.Sometimes doctors are not much help,I told them I was taking that medication, but they never mentioned the medicine could cause it,and there it was,in the PDR.Along with the side effect of sudden death, which did not sound good at all.

My mom is still in the hostpital, her hair was falling out due to radiation, so her sister who is a nurse helped her shave it. Poor mom. She is walking around though and waving to the other patients and the staff though, so she is being positive. I'm glad she has her sister to help her out, she has been very helpful.

I have some sort of virus, it took going in there again feeling like serious crap to get them to take an x ray and flu test. I have some kind of lower respiratory virus, but they do not know what it is and I guess they can't figure it out. It's likely bronchitis, which is scary, because asthma and bronchitis do not mix, and if it is chronic that will be terribly bad. They say I should feel bad for one to two more weeks, if my medicine stops working as well more I go back to them, and if the virus isn't gone go back to them or my doctors. The nurse said it shouldn't be chronic unless I smoke, which I do not. The large amount of phlegm in the back of my throat disappeared this morning, not sure if it will come back. Trying to keep a positive attitude.

Mom's coming home today. She has more meds to make her more comfortable. She's still sad and cries, she just wants to get home ASAP and stay here. I can't imagine it is nice being stuck in a hospital, knowing your days are... "numbered". She'd rather be at home with family. I myself am still sick with the virus, *may be getting better, dunno... But I can't get too involved with mom right now, because of my virus, and that sucks. I cried today. My health problems and my mom's, and my other parent who is busy, it is so much stress.

Thanks guys... It is nice to have a place to talk about these things and have some kind of support.

I saw my mom this morning after I got up. I told her "Hey mom, welcome back home!" and said " I'd hug you but I don't want to give you my virus". She perked up and responded. We got in a brief discussion about her hair she lost, apparently it will grow back. I was thinking about buying her some nice hats. It feels so strange to see my own mother without hair, after all these years where she had it.

I'm happy she isn't crying in pain now, I hope she never has to again.

I am still sick. I did wake up this morning without feeling like death is near for me, which was odd, I didn't know what to think about that. I feel like so much crap usually when I wake up. Coughed up some phlegm a few or so times since waking. I read that is good, it's clearing me out of the bad stuff. Trying to stay positive.

Hats are a good idea. When my daughters friend lost her hair to chemo my daughter crocheted hats for her.Make sure they are very soft on the inside, scratchy ones bothered her.Hope you feel better soon, have you ever tried breathing steam to get some of the phlegm up?Get a pan of water that's hot,but not too hot,add a drop of peppermint oil and put a towel over your head and inhale it.It has helped me before when I was congested. Its good to hear she is pain free and also good for you so you don't have to worry so much.

Thanks for the tip. I didn't think about that. I wear a lot of hats and can't stand when they get itchy inside.

I have a humidifier since a couple of days ago, not sure if it is helping yet, but I think that it might be. I'm using some vicks vapopads in it, and that uses a few different oils and some menthol. I think I'll try adding peppermint oil to some hot water, it could help, and at this point I am really desperate.

Having my mom back is still taking some getting used to. I think the fact that she lost her hair is for some reason hard for me to process, I guess emotionally. Like I said, it is so different than what I am used to. I am also worried about getting her sicker or her getting me sick and sicker because she has a lung disease that makes her more prone to what I got right now, and she has been coughing a little bit. I make sure to disinfect door knobs and things around that we normally touch, every single day now.

I was thinking about making her a video playlist of some really funny and some cute animal videos on youtube. She loves to laugh and also loves cute animals. She has a hard time staying awake a lot of the time, but I just want to make her as happy as possible.

That's a good idea about the vids.I've laughed out loud at some of the stuff pets do.Is there a type of music she likes? That would be relaxing.

I'm not sure what kind of music she likes. She listens to the stuff on T.V. like American Idol and shows like that... She likes old honky tonk country... stuff IDK about to be honest.

Here's a question for anyone who has known somebody close die with cancer. Did they come to terms with their death, and how?

Mom wants to go visit her user brother, for company. Other parent does not want her too, because user brother may try to use her, and mom is not likely to refuse or realize it because she is not thinking straight. They are now arguing over it. Mom threatens to leave. Other parent threatens to send mom's relative to bring her back, or back to hospital, or under another relative's care, if they leave. I wish they knew what these arguments did to me, they bother me so much, even if they do happen to be general s**t talking BS. I feel like I'm trapped in a madhouse.

Mom's crying now. Wants to go now. Her sister is supposed to bring her there tomorrow though and she knows that. Mom's still just sad though, I'm sure lots of things are going through her mind, and that its all hard to handle.
