Oh... :o I like you bizarre, you're one of my favourite peeps here! And you make me laugh. I think we have a similar sense of humour. :) Don't put yourself down Lass.

Well, I'm glad I started this thread, it seems to have touched on a subject that a lot of people have thought about...I wonder if it's an AS thing, to feel like you don't really belong somewhere even if you do even if it is just belonging to a group of others who also feel that they are 'outsiders'. I dunno, I feel like I'm talking crap tonight, lol. Tomorrow may be better.

(bold for emphasis)

I think you are probably right. And I don't think you or Apatura are too AS for WP. I don't know how you could think that :?

I read your posts. I like you but don't really know you. There seem to be so many people here now, I don't try to get to know new people, and usually skim over most posts until I see one from someone I know (like you).

I also think its kind of odd that I have taken a fast liking to some people here and the odd couple an instant dislike to. Same thing happens to me IRL. I can't see any logical reason to it, especially here. It could be the people I like best are the ones who posted something nice to me when I was new and feeling vulnerable. I think IRL I wouldn't have anything in common with the people I like.

IRL and here, I usually expect not to be liked by people, and its a nice surprise to find out I am liked.

Took some psychological evaluation tests a couple of years ago. I exhibit the symptoms and some characteristics of the typical person with Aspergers Syndrome.

And then I took some other tests, such as the Verbal Assessment and Mathematical Assessment test (Part of the psychological evaluation in order to measure how good you are in them and your potential, not related to actual knowledge). I am an anomaly in those tests. I also took some sort of memory and visual test as well, and I am an anomaly in those tests too.

So yes, I am an anomaly even for Aspies.

If I didn't like you at least a little I wouldn't even give you any virtual kisses.

I get self conscious about the curtness and brevity of my posts sometimes. It just seems like others have so much to say.

I feel that way all the the time about WP. I think there are some people on here who are imposters, and there are some who really do have it. I usually end up writing long essays on WP.

The other thing I want to mention is that online personae can be very different from how we are in real life. If you met me, you would have no idea I was on the spectrum. Nor would I open up and share all the things I do in print here. I am very private in real life. My point is that you are getting glimpses of people who are sharing in a forum that is different than how people relate when face to face.

I agree here. I find that being able to write something and think about it a bit more saves me from my Aspie blunders quite a lot.

I have noticed a lot of differences with members here but I feel fine and just happy to have found somewhere with people struggling with similar issues and sharing fun times together.

In real life, it is usually hard to tell that I have AS except for odd little comments because I have learned to be more careful before I speak.

I sometimes still doubt that I have AS, despite a diagnosis from the top psychiatrist from my state, and the pervasive feeling that I have finally figured out what the f**k is wrong with me.

It's because there are so many people here who are so different from me. I have huge empathy for others, so bad in fact that it causes me pain. I get my feelings hurt very easily, I have guilt galore, I have never had problems having a man in my life (but that's another story I guess). I feel out out place here because of these things, but there are so many other things that do fit me, that I stay here nonetheless. I realize the incredible diversity here, and appreciate it.

I just wish sometimes there were more people like me, than people who aren't like me.

As en_una_isla said to me, if you like posting here, you are probably AS. If psychic lady says that, it must be true, :D but I know what you mean.

Being in your profession, are you allowed to question a Dr's dx? Won't you be struck off or something?
