She didn't say when she would be able to date, but all I know is that she will not do anything long-distance.

I don't do the F.buddy thing. I will only do it within a committed relationship.

I was reluctant to say f.buddy but in this particular case, it is sort-of commitment (and you've said how important sex was in several other posts).

I still don't get it.

If you were in her town - would she commit? really? for sure?
You'd have to ask her.

Can you do the rest of college by correspondence?
Do you even want to continue with Geology?

If she's unsure whether she would commit at all, even if you moved to her town then I'd say it's time to move on. (that the relationship wasn't going both ways).

She has never said if she would commit if I moved to where I am.

This has me very stressed because there are no other female Aspies who have the same interests who are also single.

Tim, you're a very nice guy. Why do you continue doing this to yourself? This is almost identical to the situation with the 18 year old last year. http://www.wrongplanet.net/postt25397.html

Finish school. How will you feel if the woman you're interested in has a degree and a profession and you're still drifting about as to what to do with your life? Just bite the bullet and finish school. Make some bad grades - who cares, most employers want to see the sheepskin, not the transcript. She's doing the right thing, by putting her energy into her studies right now. Flexibility can be hard for aspies, but you can do it, Tim!

I'm trying to finish school, but she said she couldn't do anything long-distance. And there are no other female Aspies who like South Park who are also single.

How do I meet them when I live in a very conservative, semi-rural area that is 100 miles from the nearest major city?

Tim_Tex, I just joined a day or two ago. Obviously I don't know anything about the drama that you mentioned, and I'm sorry you haven't made many personal friends here. But I have to say that big goofy grin from Tim_Tex attached to your many quality comments made me feel more welcome than anything else could have. True story :)

Alright, I admit it, I barely glanced at the last page of posts (I have odd surfing habits due to dodgy dial-up)... Seems the thread took a U-turn in what I missed :D

Sounds to me like:
1) You bummed about missing out on something potentially nice. Definitly an excuse to take a break from being the front man around here,
2) You have, in fact, made at least one friend, even if it didn't work out.
3) You need to be talking to her about things, and try to find a comprimise that you can both live with, at least until one of you is done with school. And a woman who says she "can't" do something, even for AS, doesn't always mean "can't". But I don't know anything about it, sooo....

Advice from a stranger :)

I can't even concentrate on my studies right now because I am so stressed out about her.

I even slammed a door on my finger, and it caused a bruise. It's a miracle that I didn't break my finger. It was the first time I had self-injured myself in years.

The only way I can be in a relationship with her is if I drop out of college and move to wherever she is.

Tim,

I'm not even sure that she'd accept you even if you did drop your studies. It sounds like;
- she respects your studies and your goals
- she isn't feeling ready for a relationship herself
- she isn't sure where she will be.

You could stop your studies and chase her about for a year, but unless you really think that she'd accept you doing that, there's little point.

If you're open to stopping your studies, why not discuss that as a hypothetical with her. See if she agrees or not.

I'm not saying to quit, just to discuss what would happen if you did.

I have to. I don't know any other female Aspies who like South Park who are also single. Not in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area, and definitely not in Wichita Falls.

I have decided not to permanently quit WP, but I do feel that I need to take a long break from it, effective tomorrow.

I can still be reached at my e-mail address, timhomer2002@yahoo.com, and at my IM addresses:

AIM: timhomer2002

Yahoo: timhomer2002

MSN: timhomer2008

E-mail is probably the best way to communicate with me.
