The term "family" can be thought of as those of us that belong to the wrongplanet---or those of us on the autistic spectrum. But as most of us know---not everyone in a family necessarily gets along.

Upon reading all the advice that everyone has tried to offer---whether harsh or mild---one thing is apparent so far. This thread has gotten nowhere except caused heated arguments. These arguments appear to be between those offering harsh advice and ttqs84 over the issue of the band.

So here is a question to ttqs84. Can you, ttqs84, give up on seeing the band and try to proceed with your life? You truly do not need the band to become the potential person you can become. In light of your responses toward others that you feel have been in conflict with you, I for some reason see a respectable and caring person underneath this. I truly believe that if you can move on with your life you will find happiness.

I am 44 years old, and I can tell you from experience that you have to be careful with what you think you have to have. For example, I used to obsess over this hugh Kimball Xanadu three manual theatre organ that had cost over 30,000 dollars in 1982. I wanted that more than anything in the world. But that was a lot of money. In the 1990s, I still obsessed over it. I kept wishing and wishing for it. Then, one day, a music store got a used one in for 5,000 dollars---and I bought it. Whoa---was this a nightmare. It never worked right, and for six months I was miserable. finally, the music store traded us a brand new top of the line console piano for it. My moral is, if there is something you really want (like seeing the band) you will probably get your wish. But many many times, that wish turns out to be not what you expected.

well, seeing my favorite band in the world doesn't exactly value my self-worth. it doesn't mean that i'll be better than anyone if i do see them. if i do, i'll still be the same 5' 4' tall Colombian chick with Asperger's with no purpose in life whatsoever. if i do see Take That in person/concert i'll feel so much joy & happiness than i do now! the feeling will be a big high for me and any Take That fan will agree. if you've seen their shows, they never cease to amaze and are worth while. not only that, but they're a very lovely bunch of guys and down-to-earth as well. you have to admire that! it's not enough to just hear their music or see them in the media because onstage - THEY DELIVER A GREAT SHOW! that's the truth! I don't care what everyone else thinks, but i love them very dearly and no one can change that! they're the reason why i breathe!

I checked out Take That's website and it seems the only concerts they have in 2009 are for a summer tour in Great Britain? If it is that important to you, will you be able to save up enough money to get over there to see them? And if you do go, you should try to do other things there too like see Stonehenge, London, etc. Perhaps you could find other people around you that could go too and try to get a group rate on the trip. But if you do go, make sure you have tickets for the performance---that could be a disaster. Good luck. I sincerely hope you get to have your dream.

Well, perhaps I misunderstood. Use that motivation to work on getting a job. Work towards that trip.

true. i know i can go sightseeing, depending on what city i go to since i've already been to London twice.

the whole group rate you mention of, i don't know how to come across that and i don't know any people around me who can help. i don't know what to do in those parts...and if i ask for help on anything, i'll get weird/angry reactions from people and they'll refuse to help and fight with me. i get that a lot. i'm not trying to make excuses here, but it really does happen.

you know something, i'm starting to think it's pointless for me to vent out my problems to a computer and in front of strangers who gonna pick fights with me just because i'm a fan of a music group. i think it's best to just close this topic down already. i've learned my lesson and that is not to talk my problems out at all because people (who don't even know me at all) will start beefs with me like they usually do.

Someone still doesn't know how to keep their time-of-the-month misery from spilling over to others. Sure, it's understandable to seem too weak to control that attitude at the first time this happens, but by the end of the teenage years, if they still don't know how to keep it under control when their monthly arrives, that's (well, I'll let others guess what would've been said in this space.)

(Yes, cue the excuse that ignorant/idiotic behavior/people/responses/etc. is what drives the rage. They are that predictable!)

Ok, buddy

That stuff is personal. You have no business saying that, especially when you're a guy.

Look who's immature here, you're trying to look 17 so you can pick up 8th graders?

don't be rude. Just because you have a problem with someone does not mean you should go attack people.

Guys is all this anger really needed?

Lets all try and get along.
Life is to short to fight about things like this.

Can we all call a truce?
