My point is, these days it's all right if you come across as having not-exactly-honorable intentions. What will kill you is if you have absolutely no confidence in yourself, and come across as arrogant and judgmental.

Are you saying that even if I *were* just looking for sex (which I'm not), and actually stated that, it would be acceptable?

Well, it would probably be okay to some people, and you would get some very interesting responses. ;)

Actually, what I meant was you shouldn't worry about the sex thing, because almost everybody who is looking for a relationship is also looking for sex, or they at least understand that sex is a part of the deal.

It's only weirdos on WP who are looking for relationships without sex. ;)

You came off as blunt, thought not a bully, so if I was Tim I would have accepted your advice as well. All you basically said was to cast a wider net and to show some self-confidence, there's really nothing not to accept. Though irregardless, you shouldn't really play mind-games, either give him direct advice or don't.

However I came off as, I just hope my advice was clear and got through to him.

Although if someone had said to me some of the things I said to him, I would not be so forgiving.

Irregardless - blend of irrespective and regardless. Irregardless originated in dialectal American speech in the early 20th century. There is such a word, however. It is still used primarily in speech, although it can be found from time to time in edited prose. Its reputation has not risen over the years, and it is still a long way from general acceptance. Use regardless instead.

It's the internet, people are rude all the time. If someone doesn't react to antagonistic behavior, it doesn't necessarily mean that they aren't assertive, but instead are mature enough to simply not bother with that person.

I came to this website to learn more about Asperger's from a personal point of view instead of from scholarly papers, articles, and fact-sheets.

Though I registered because of the similar personalities and interests, particularly in math and science. :D
