Yeah, I'm probably a bit immature and don't know much about real life yet. One year out of high school living in college with your parents still supporting you and going home on holidays and weekends isn't really independence lol.

About the open minded thing, I didn't mean Christians aren't open minded, I find most are, quite a few of my closest friends are devoutly Christian and I respect and admire them for living according to their beliefs.

I guess how tied down you are also depends on how financially stable you need to be to be happy, for most people money is quite important in life. Personally, I'd rather do what I love and be around people I love than have money, and I'm not too worried because I'm definitely not materialistic and I spend very little on non-essential items (probably most of it would be buying books and sometimes music lol). The last two items of clothing I brought cost $3 and $5 retrospectively :D.

Also, I have noticed that at my school, there are a lot of people carrying acoustic guitars around.

Now I am well aware that Austin, which is 30 miles north of my school, is the Live Music capital of the country. And I have heard that liberal people often hang out at bars that feature such music. But many people at those bars don't just expect you to just listen to the music, they expect you to actually play an instrument. I don't play any musical instruments and I don't drink.

And I use the South Park criteria also to give people the impression that I'm not just looking for sex. In red states (ones that back Republican politicians--in this election, they will be the ones that McCain would win), of which Texas is one, being "liberal" means doing the opposite of what the Bible says. But like I said before, it is possible to be both Christian and liberal.

Strangely, most Christians don't abstain until marriage anymore. At least not in the U.S.
