I've never seen a fox outside a zoo.

Is it wrong that I keep checking this thread for more fox pictures?

I am doing the same thing :)

I do too! I love canines

I've seen red foxes twice IRL. I saw one small probably rather young fox running over the grass away from us when we were walking our pup once in the summer of 1985. I was very excited, and thought of it as Todd (Todd and Copper).

The second time was many years later, probably in the early 2000's. I went out on the veranda one night to fetch something, when I noticed a large (long) animal digging in the snow. I got a flashlight to get a better look. Sadly it distraught it, the fox looked up and ran away. I didn't mean to scare it off, I was just curious what animal it was :(

Canidae (Canids) is the family that the genuses Canis (Canines) and Vulpes (Foxes) both belong to.

I have a funny fox related story. When my daughter was about 2-2 1/2, pretty young anyway, I left her with mum while I had to do something in the city. Mum had prepared a prank for my return.

We all love animals in our house and mum had been reading to my daughter, showing her the pictures. When I came home she said - "C**** can read! She's a genius! watch this..." she then pointed to the picture of the fox and the writing underneath and said "What does this say C****?" C**** all serious and peered at the writing and clearly said "The Fox vulpes vulpes." Delightful!

Why did you name your daughter something that the WP profanity filter would censor ? /s

This is my baby fox kit figurine. I used to have the mother fox but I had an emotional falling out with foxes a few years ago and unfortunately I rid myself of the other one. I'm surprised but glad this one was saved.

Kicks self now. :wall:

It is reminiscent of a picture I recently came across in a book. Is it a maned wolf?

Got it in one! :wtg:

Looks like the bizarre lovechild of a red fox and a roe deer.

These two live in Norway and are best friends and do everything together.

Their names are Snusen (the fox) and Tinni.
