Starbuline always seemed to be strong, and very mature for her age. I'm going to miss her. We're all going to miss her. I also agree that life can be very unfair to Aspies. Life can be very unfair for anybody who's just that little bit different from the mainstream. I remember her sticking up for me, back in February, when I made a post, after reinventing myself, after I've felt that my innocence had died. I also remember all the avatars that she had of Ilijia. There are many types of bullies in life that make many of us want to end it all. There is the school ground bully, who gets a kick out of picking on students who are more vulnerable than they are. There are the hallway bullies in high school, who like to weed out students who are different and make their lives a living hell. There are bullies, who are disguised as parents, who like to make things miserable for their offspring. There are also the trolls on the Internet. There is also another type of bully that she will never have to encounter, called the workplace bully. I'm sorry about her loss. :cry:

How sad! I have only been on WP a short time, but I thought Starbuline was very nice. She was a fellow cat lover. She will be missed.

R.I.P.

As much as there was bad blood between me and Sophie, she still had a long and good life to look forward to, and it's a great shame that she died.

It sad to hear another person from here is gone.
I remember her here from around the time I first joined. She and Sopho appeared on another site I frequent briefly.
Things like only serve to remind oneself how precarious some of our situations are with depression and such.

She's... dead? Wow... I can't believe it. It seemed like only yesterday she was posting on the forums. My condolences to her friends and family.

This is my small tribute to Sophie.

Proportion

by Ben Jonson

It is not growing like a tree
In bulk, doth make man better be;
Or standing long an oak, three hundred year,
To fall a log at last, dry, bald, and sere:
A lily of a day
Is fairer far in May,
Although it fall and die that night;
It was the plant and flower of light.
In small proportions we just beauties see;
And in short measures, life may perfect be.

I lost a friend. Someone I cared about and someone I was able to connect with. She had so much ahead of her and I am overwhelmed thinking about how special she was and how much the world lost with her death.

Starbuline had a breakdown and we stopped talking at some point. I was sad as I felt betrayed for no reason but OK because I knew we would eventually sort things out. Now we won't get that chance. And for this, I am at a loss. :cry: :cry:

OMG I realize that she was not before my time but until you post a certain number of posts you don't really feel "initiated" into the WP community and shouldn't assume familiarity on the same level as posters who have been here much longer than I have. :oops:

Don't worry about it Silver_Meteor, it's your feeling about it that matters, not how long you've been here.

Not having known her I cannot say much but when I read the description of what happened it sounds, unfortunately so incredibly teenaged. :( For years Ive heard about teen suicide pacts but this is the 1st time in a long time that such a thing was actually followed through on. When you're a teen, suicide can be very contagious. The trouble is, sucide is almost always an impulsive act moreso than a premeditated act. When a not is left is because the person had been feeling those impulses for a while. I wonder why her bf committed suicde though....... :?

i dont know what to say.

i didnt really know her, only read her posts and saw her photos. still, it saddens me much more than if my neighbor died or something.
from her posts, she seemed fragile, but i didnt want to think about that it could be so severe.

i guess what stuck themost with me was when she posted that she had a very deep sounding voice - and i pictured that girl from her photos, pixie-ish and thin, as if the most delicate gust of wind could blow her away, but with a mature kind of girlish sexiness to her, talking with a rich and deep voice (rolling her 'r's like russian people tend to). that thought really astounded me in its beauty.
overall, from reading her posts, she seemed to be person of beauty. and can there be a loss more tragic than the loss of real beauty? beauty that could have grown more beautiful, that still had so much potential to unfold? i dont think so.

now, no one of those people out there will get why i sit in front of my computer, crying for someone i dint know, but they dont need to.

i can see how one could stop wanting to exist. i hope she is better now.
