I've injured my back a few times in my life. It really sucks. Now again I am flat on my back after- get this- pulling a muscle sneezing on Monday. Sneezing! So I'm off work again. My boss is being very supportive. But the pity party is starting to set in. For me, this can be very, very bad- worse than the physical injury and pain.

The good things: benzodiazepines, narcotics, a heating pad, the cat purring in solidarity, and flat on my back with my Internet window to the world keeping me company.

I'm blogging about it at my anonymous blog, WordSprite.

I've thrown my back out more times than I can remember. Sounds like you are taking good care of yourself. It's a good thing that your boss is being fair about it, too. Hope you mend soon! :flower:

Thanks, HartzofSpace. I was going to ask for prayers but that oft brings a backlash on WP that really hurts when it happens in the Haven.

Consider yourself lucky. I knew a guy who once fractured a vertebra from sneezing. I also knew a girl who dislocated her shoulder from brushing her hair. Injuries can happen from the most (apparently) benign activities.

I wish you a speedy and safe recovery!

Thank you for the well-wishes.
I have heard of such benign causes of back injuries too- crocheting, turning a newspaper page, etc... a bit scary.
