Next week is my final week of the Buckingham service that helps me with transportation and skills and stuff like that. I've meet a few cool people there that I can joke about anything and can relate too personality wise. I'll still stay in contact but now my future looks kind of empty for awhile. After next week I will have no transportation away from my parents. LOL My parents are nice but I need time away from them. My Step Mother only works 2 1/2 days a week. And I will be home most of the time until this ecconemy get's better so I can look for a job. Plus my social life is going to be harder now since not having any kind of transportation. My parents are hard working people so I hate to ask them for transportation plus I want to be more indepentant so It's kind of embarriousing if they are in the picture if you know what I mean. Loneliness is certainly coming towards my way even more so than ever. The bright side is that I can work on my show even more so, but it's hard to get new ideas if I don't get out there and get inspiration. But anyways, It's probably going to be HELL after next week. More nagging from my parents and less relating to other people.

Like I've mentioned in eariler posts, Me and my parents are complete oppisites.

I'm the ENFP Aspie Androgyn who has a rough and wild yet cartoony sense of humor who likes to make out of control puppet films using irreverent humor

and My parents are ISTJ Serious People who have a duel lifestyle and always wants to get into my privite life and business as much as possible.

I could take it one day at a time but still...........Almost Everyday with Buckingham is like getting away from a Nagging unrelating household to being with someone for 6 hours just joking in a satirical sense about everything. I'm really going to miss that. I SO want my appartment listing to be Sooner!

I have the same problem. As I got older and wanted more independence, my family got more naggy and more in my face.I ended up in a group home because no body thought I could do things on my own, even though I was independent at age 13. I am 30 years old and about to leave the group home because after years of telling and getting through these people's heads(both family and group home agency) they finally realized that my Asperger's does not interfere with my independence and living skills.
As for the friend part, as I got older I became more isolated. The only friendship opportunities i have are with people who can not verbalize and/or have issues where they have behaviors that get in the way. I always did better with the NT's because I am able to related better with them, than I would with a low functioning autistic. I am the only one in the program with Asperger's. Everyone else has classic autism with co-morbid behavior and psychiatric issues, which makes socializing difficult. I always need someone to talk to, but because of the limited communication, listening, and social in the other clients, the only ones who are willing to talk to me are NT's. Plus, NT's have more understanding of my interests, because for the other clients, my interests and hobbies are more difficult for them to handle. When i talk to them, they get upset and leave to withdraw. Some like my housemates react violently and physically attack me.
When I do get a normal friend, my family and everyone around me gets mad, like I do not deserve a friend who would listen to me, respect me, and share my interests with me. Instead I am subjected to people who attack me, do not share or have the ability to share in my interests, and/or people who are limited or can not communicate with me. This isolates me big time. I am going to school in September, but I am scared because my family and everyone around me are scarring me into not trusting normal people as friends. But I do not do well socially and emotionally with people with disabilities because of their limitations that interfere with the kind of friendship I need to survive. It is like they want me isolated and that the family should be my only social outlet. That is sick,I am too old for that. I am becoming more detached away from my family all because of this.
So I know how you feel. I think, with me, it is because I have a label, i do not deserve to have everything, including friendships, because I have a label.

Gee I wish people would learn to use paragraphs.

In our "modern society" of England and America the state will look after you.

They will give you food and a place to live no matter what your parents do or don't do.
