Congratulations on moving and graduating out of that horrible place. I too am moving out of my group home and going to become 100% independent without staff and any agency supports what so ever. I am now just waiting for any place to open up and I am moved in. It is a very long and painstaking wait, but it would be worth leaving that horrible group home. people like us should not be in group homes or any restricted places. We are very smart people, who should have been taught and/or counseled emotionally on how to be independent, rather than "over protected" and just had independence "thrown" in our faces without any instructions. That is how so many of us get "screwed". We are not disabled enough for any understanding or need of "learning' opportunities, but we are disabled enough to be "put" away in these places instead of being taught how to be independent and not have to be put anywhere.
Good luck with everything. I hope them "agency" group home people get sued and fired.

Do they have any assistance where you live for food and other things? I would actually consider being out of a group home and on my own independent. Are you getting any assistance as for staff or just on your own without no one assisting you what so ever? I am just living on my own without any help or assistance from other people or staff.
I am going into a section 8, in the States where I live, the rent is only 1/3 of my total income. since I get $600 a month, your rent, which includes utilities, would only be $200. That means I would still have another $400 for other things. I also use food stamps, so I can get help paying for food. The food stamps are actually a EBT card, which on the first of every month, money gets "deposited" into it. Even though I live in my group home, but I get food stamps because I have to pay for my food. I get $200 a month, and because I shop at a Super Wal-Mart, I only literally spend only about $180. They carry over into the next month, so I always have "extra" funds.
As for therapy, I am going to a therapist, who is giving me emotional counseling, so that I can get the encouragement to go on my own. i am also in it because of the emotional damage that was caused by being in the group home and the bad experiences that came with it. I have a therapist that deals with everyone, not just Asperger's. There are so many therapists out there where I live. I decided not to get one who specializes in autism because that is how I got in my "group home" mess in the first place. That was also because I saw her at the Autism agency, who also is in charge of the "group home" I am in.
Good luck with everything and I hope everything goes well.

The fact that this person is referring to Euros rather than dollars should probably tip you off that it might not work that way. This person isn't American.
