hi all
well recently (july 27th) i just split with my girlfriend of 2 yrs...we were going to get married next year....anyway she has problems dealing with my Aspergers (mostly my interests)...and my "logical attitude"...we are still friends and her family still cares for me...but...i still live with her and her 3 kids (prev. marriage not mine) and she insists that i stay with her until i can save up to go on my own..i am currently not working.....my issue is i'm not sure how to react now it's uncomfortable for me to stay with her but i've nowhere else to go...also not everyone in her family knows yet especially the younger ones (her kids know tho)..my thoughts are both for and against staying....any advice?

I'm unclear as to what the problem is. Unless and until someone wants you to leave, it sounds like a workable situation.

If you are uncomfortable, then do whatever it takes to find steady work quickly. I know that's tough these days in the U.S., and I just read a detailed article above life in Maine during the recession. But without a place to go, you are fortunate to have a place to stay.

I recall something similar happening to someone I once knew. Her solution was to start doing housework regularly so that she felt she was contributing to the household since she was no longer "formally" (in her words) a part of it. Does that help?

actually yes that does help...sorry if i was unclear about my problem....i was unsure if i should stay there because people would be uncomfortable.....but the housework thing does sound like a good idea...that way i am contributing and not just living off of her kindness....until i find work..thank you :)
