It has worked for my wife and my son. I hope it does you good too.

It's a good drug if you have issues with ADD or anhedonia. Unlike most ADs, it's a dopamine drug. It acts as a mild stimulant, so it can actually make you feel satisfied, instead of just dampening your emotions. The only downside I've seen widely reported is that it can exacerbate anxiety and insomnia in some people. I've been on it for years. If it's possible, I'd request the XL version (instead of the SR), as it's smoother in its delivery and impact. My only complaint is that it makes me smell bad, but that's an uncommon side effect.

I was only on it a few weeks and my anxiety decreased a lot.I was surprised it was so fast but it was a a pronounced change.I had to stop taking it though because of a rare side effect...nonstop itching on the soles of my feet and palms of my hands. It was really horrid and only Prednisone?(some kind of steroid, cant recall)made the itching stop.It maybe unrelated but I have had really bad rashs and hives in the 10 months since I stopped it.

I wish you much luck.If you start feeling itchy...stop and talk to your DR.I think I waited to long to report the side-effect and it messed up my immune function.

Man, Wellbutrin is awful. I was on that stuff for 3 weeks, i had to stop taking it before it made me go even more crazy. Watch out when taking it, I have never met anyone that had a good experience with wellbutrin

I have took Wellbutrin for 9 months, stopped taking it for 6 months and went back on it this weekend. It works better for me than any of the other stimulants or anti-depressants I've tried. I am happier, I sleep better, I become less obsessive, and can focus properly. Oh, and the social anxiety is less, not gone, but tolerable.
Of course all medications affect different people in different ways so you have to go by what your body tells you. I wish you luck!

Buck-u-uppo (bupropion) is said to be stimulating... I think it was you, ahayes, that said that! I hope it works soon, and has antidepressant side effects in the meantime (like giddiness)!

Maybe if I was younger I'd feel giddy. I am darn happy most of the time, which was my normal state when I was young. And I don't get angry and lose it on my kids. I hope it works as well for, Ana54.

Your pharmacist went over the med with you, I hope. The one thing that I found when I first started taking it was that I was dizzy and lightheaded. It felt almost like I was floating at times (and not in a good way). That lasted for about 2 weeks but I stuck with it and it went away.

A decongestant will probably get rid of that if it happens to me.
