Trolls are a select group of people who try to evoke an emotional response from someone through various means. I am an Xbox live troll because I impersonate a kid from vietnam to annoy people til they have a tantrum but I'm not mean to people. Many youtube trolls have gotten in the trend of bashing sub-cultures. They say that god hates these sub-cultures and that they should all commit suicide. I have gotten teary-eyed once because of how hateful some of the videos are. It reminds me of fascism.

Among them are weeaboos(people who think Japan itself and its culture is holy and often disown their own culture and use japanese words in their sentences), emos, Otherkin-see wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Otherkin , and furries http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Furry_fandom
(do not look them up on google, this wikipedia article will hint at why you shouldn't).

The trolls tell people who belong to these subgroups that they are worthless. People have had to go to psychologists because trolls are really mean and do not stop. They also verbally attack individuals no matter how young they are as you'll see here. Thousands of people have called him a homo over the past 4 months. He had to go to therapy for it. And came back to more name calling. I make videos bashing youtube trolls as a retaliation. It's hard to decide which side to fight for as the oppressed have inner demons too. I have to keep an open-mind.

And now I wanna ask, should I throw myself into this internet war, or should I stand and watch. Those who support the subgroups are sometimes bashed on a daily basis by the trolls and their cronies. Do I have enough mental charisma to survive it? I don't know what I'll gain from it but it may be good practice for when I get older, because I want to join a human rights organization after I go through college.

It's not going to help you with human rights work. Most of that is negotiating with people who at least put on a polite facade. You won't be negotiating with actual extremist suicide bombers, but rather the political system that enables them.

Dealing with people who engage in and get a charge out of hate-speech is pointless. They haven't asked for your input and are just going to attack you in turn. Your time would be better spent supporting the victim quietly and inobstrusively.

By the way... getting a rush out of provoking people is contemptible. It's a cheap little power play to make yourself seem more important and clever than your victims. It's only different from the hate-mongers in degree, not in essence... you're engaging in manipulative bullying behavior.

I frankly don't think you're suited to human rights work at this point... One needs a balanced, stable mind that respects human life and rights, which your enjoyment of being a troll is antithetical to. Those are real people you're harming, troll.

I do not harm people on xbox live. I just talk in an exaggerated vietnamese accent to annoy them(it's not some random accent, its actually based off of the way my Vietnamese friend and Chinese brother talk as well as the phonology of the language itself, which happens to be one of my favorite languages). They are the ones that yell at me. I enjoy it because I think it's hilarious how they trash talk back to me as soon as I talk. But I'm a really nice person so I would never try to hurt one's feelings. I'm really a kind person IRL

As for human rights, I'm not naive. I have studied the civil rights of southeast asia for a year now . I know bashing failtrolls(they are one type of troll, not the whole community. I'm a noob so I know very little about the types of trolls.) is like bullying them back, but the people I fight for do favor outside help as I've seen. They favor all the help they can get. They could all pull out and starve the trolls into boredom but there are so many failtrolls that it will be hard.

I dunno....it still seems like you're basically just being a troll yourself, i mean you're still annoying people, just because you don't make these people go to a therapist doesn't mean you're not a troll.

Whether what you are doing is trolling or not is irrelevant to me. I would advise against fighting against trolls because heck, that's what they get their weird kicks out of. I watched a Stephen Gately video (he died this morning :() today and less than 24 hours after he's died, some saddo has been writing really homophobic comments on youtube. Trouble is that people are responding so he gets worse and worse the more you argue with him (assuming it is a 'he'). It's best to just ignore the petty losers because they obviously have a s**t life if that's how they have fun...

We live in a world with free speech over the internet, for better or worse. As soon as you connect to the internet you must accept you will be subjected to whatever people want to say, and you can say whatever you like.

When I first got onto the web I was about the same age as this kid. I was exposed all manner of obscenities, and when I first went onto chatrooms I was ridiculed and kicked a few times. I just wasn't stupid enough to fan the flames by making videos about it. I'd say the same thing back when I was 9.

I would fervently fight any attempt to censor anyone's words anywhere, even if that means communicating in an internet full of idiots, trolls and flamers.

I am an internet troll. It's a lot of fun for me, even though I know it is wrong. I simply go around and insult someone on YouTube if I disagree with their opinion, not much else, but I want to troll some forums because I dislike them!

I will admit (just on here, that is) that the reasons I troll are because I cannot connect with people in the right way anywhere. If I try to be nice, no one cares. But if I lash out randomly at someone, I am almost guaranteed to grab their attention. I want trolling to be a bigger part of my life, because when I make someone angry at me for what I said, it gives me joy. Often, the guy would cuss and scream at me and I laugh my ass off like a little boy!

Hardly anything else in this forsaken world gives me such joy... I guess that makes me a bad person, but I just can't help it...

Well, Ive found that there are two ways to make a troll shut up: 1) Ignore the self-centered @$$hole, 2) Come up with a snappy response that makes him/her seem like an idiot. For example, had to deal with one on WoW when trying to look for something. He pulled the whole "FU, i had sex with your mom, blah blah blah" and i replied, "If you come up with an original insult, please let me know." That stint went on for a bit, him saying something about screwin me or something, then later called me gay, I replied, "Oh, going into orientation, eh. Well, you're the only one who mentioned screwin me and Im a guy, so the only orientation you should be worried about atm is your own." Got a lot of LOLs after that and not another peep from him.

Witty and intelligent comebacks are their bane, as long as you deliver it civilly and eloquently.

this reminds me, i think the moderator Sinsboldy, unfairly called me a troll a few hours ago. :?

just because i made a thread bashing ignorance among the masses. i even said at one part i could be wrong about my assessment. i'm not some troll who thinks their strong opinions are infallible.

and some people on here agreed with me, so i'm pretty sure i wasn't spreading malicious falsehoods. i made a poll to go with it and only one person thought i was wrong. prolly Sinsboldy, idk

i do like to evoke strong emotional reactions, because i find it amusing, but it wasn't my intent. and not really a conscious habit.

You seem to be taking the internet too seriously in general. Who cares if there are people who pretend to be animals or are obsessed with japan, or people who say mean/stupid things? No one goes to a psychologist because of some comment on the internet, that's ridiculous.

Trolls are nothing more than high school bullies with such low self esteem that they have to demean others with their "opinions" just to make themselves feel good. As i mentioned before, the best way to be rid of them is to ignore them. SAY NOTHING to them, just ignore them and remove their comments. They are meaningless, they know they are, and theyre trying to find meaning at another's expense . . . dont allow them to, or dont respond, and they'll either stop or cut themselves (works for me either way  ).

I got out of the war. About a two days ago, I realized that it was pointless. I mocked their self-esteem when I was fighting against them, but in truth I know both sides have low self-esteem, thus the victims get really riled up or quit youtube. Also associating yourself with those groups isn't the best thing in the world as both sides are delusional to varying degrees. I've been on the internet forever but now that I do more on it than I used to, I saw that and acted immaturely. I need to stop taking the internet too seriously. (funny thing is, I haven't come back to this topic in like a week so I just read most of these posts now. Thus I came to my own conclusions. Thanks for the feedback anyways :) ) And Lienda Balla, just look up Christianyoutuber. Many people copy-paste his vids so it ought to be somewhere. I think he(the original person) quit for a second time.
