I often get a visual hallucination of the room zooming in and out very rapidly. Yesterday, I got a new one: the room rapidly twisting to the left and to the right, as if my head / vantage point was shifting to the left and back to the right impossibly fast, while I was actually sitting absolutely still. That one made me nearly vomit. It occurred during an extreme emotional dive, which I think was a rapid bipolar shift.
The thing is, during my hallucinations, I can still barely sense the room the way it really is if I try hard, but my hallucinations keep imposing themselves into my visual field. Put it this way: the knowledge that the room isn't actually moving does not help me at all. I'm still nautious from the way it seems to be moving.
