Ditto!
I totally know what you mean. The strategy I have adopted ( for many years now ) is to maintain certain dietary routines which reduce the number of times that we fall ill.
We rarely eat concentrated proteins ( meat, fish, eggs, cheese ), and concentrated carbohydrates ( rice, corn, potatoes, etc ), at the same meal, ( the "Hay" diet ), which is very effective, and if/when anyone looks like they are developing a cold/flu they exclude all dairy produce ( dairy tends to stimulate catarrh production, which significantly effects how bad a cold will be ). We also regularly eat raw and cooked garlic in dishes, which helps to keep viral and bacterial infections at bay. And of course the less sugar the better.
It is also possible that frequent illness is the result of psychological problems, difficulties at school for instance, and therefore that finding out if everything is alright there may be useful.
When my son does fall ill I just about put up with it, but find myself becoming increasingly impatient and irritable if it lingers, or if he is ill again soon after, so the preventative approach through diet is absolutely crucial.
I hope they fall asleep a lot today, and feel well again very soon!
