There are so many aspies that become depressed around age 15, why haven't I had the slightest touch of it?

Count yourself lucky. Maybe you have better social skills than you realise or are happy with your own company more than others.

you are very fortunate.

do not encourage development of negative thought-forms and patterns, do not look for reasons to be depressed... it is not a process that can be reversed or stopped easily, once started you will know it is hard to shake the black dog from your heels.

hold on to your happy state of mind, embrace your identity, keep smiling!

Don't worry, there is no need to get depressed at your age. You ccan always get depressed later in live. The reason why young people get depressed can be a divorce, a death, problems in school etc. And last but not least problems ajusting to adolancence, which the biggest change in a persons live. During adollecence we go through a major transsion that may cause depresson for youngster. Other transsions in later live may also cuase a depression. Depression is most of the time seen as something negatve, but at some stage in life changes has to made and life after that will be better and also will the person wellbeng be when they work through it. It is a learning process.

I would love to hang around with you since you seem to be the person with positive vibes :D that's actually really cool, i'm going to assume that you enjoy your life alot :D

I get depressed at times but it was so much worse when I was about 15 and that when it actually properly started.... since then I've been battling with my own emotions from a few deaths, to my exams, to my social life plus the bullying that I happened to be in when I was at school because the other person was too competitive and I seem pathetic to him.

If you wanted to be depressed, seriously, it is not worth being depressed, you would hardly escape from it sometimes... its best to enjoy your life to the full :D

Perhaps it's because you're projecting your anger outward instead of inward.

that is the most plausible explanation. At that age I constantly was having anger issues. Now that Im older though you are 'required' to be calm and composed and s**t, so you kinda have to hold it all in or you make an idiot out of yourself.

I also remembered B making a number of posts about how angry he was, and how empty he felt when he wasn't angry. So it gave me the impression that anger was his most overriding feeling.

If I had projected my anger outward, as Stinkypuppy says, I might have avoided getting depressed.

I was depressed at 15 and refused meds for anxiety or anything because I thought it would prevent or slow down my enlightenment about the meaning of life. Looking back, I should have accepted the meds. It was the depression and anxiety that prevented me from discovering the meaning of life sooner.

But I didn't need meds until I was 19 and it accelerated into homicidality and desperate mania. Well, maybe I could have done with some earlier.

I may have mania, I can do a lot of work in one day, but get sick the next.

You may have not had as rough of a life as some of us have. Also, the chemicals that often cause (or at least aggravate) depression come in your teen years, and some people are just lucky not to get them, or have better coping skills to deal with them.

You're one of the lucky ones. You're a very tough person. I wish I could be as tough as you.

Maybe it's the environment you're in. Most of us have crappy lives and people cause our depression so it makes us depressed. I'm not depressed anymore because I have a husband now and he accepts me for who I am. Plus I'm happier in a city.

I never had chemical depression, my depression was caused by people and the life style I had. At times I wouldn't have it because I was happy. Plus I was on medication then so that helped. Now I don't need it.
